Johnny Wactor may have been best known for General Hospital but he also starred in NCIS during the days of Agent Leroy Gibbs.

Hollywood was left stunned last week when news broke that 37-year-old actor Johnny Wactor had been murdered in downtown Los Angeles.

He was shot by one of three suspects who had attempted to extract the catalytic converter from his car at around 3am on Saturday, May 25, and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Wactor was accompanied by his friend and colleague Anita Joy at the time and saved her life as he put his body in the way of the armed car thieves as they fatally shot him.

His biggest role to date was as Brando Corbin in medical drama General Hospital for two years, as well smaller parts in shows such as Criminal Minds, Siberia and The Hollywood Girl.

When was late actor Johnny Wactor in NCIS?

General Hospital alum Johnny Wactor starred in NCIS just five years ago, back in 2019, for season 16, episode 12’s The Last Link.

He was behind Navy Lieutenant Ross Johnson who had a hit put out on him by drug dealer Michael Deegan.

Thankfully, it was a failed attempt and Johnson was safe but in order to try and get the mastermind behind bars, the team staged his death and used his hitman Peaches to lure him in.

Peaches made a deal with NCIS, agreeing to wear a wire to try and get a confession out of Deegan but unfortunately, it seemed that the drug lord already had the upper hand.

He denied any knowledge of a “hit”, leaving Peaches stumped and Deegan continued to lie throughout his interview with NCIS.

Aware that he was alive, Deegan was still keen to have him killed and despite Johnson being told to leave his phone behind, he took it with him to a hotel where he was tracked down.

Johnson’s food was poisoned with a harsher byproduct of fentanyl so everyone who came in contact with the body and or the food had to take an emergency shower.

Since Wactor’s death, Joy, the woman who he saved, has released a statement talking about her brave friend.

She said: “Johnny had this incredible ability that was truly just his genuine nature — to make anyone and everyone feel so special in his eyes.

“No matter how well you knew him, he treated everyone like he truly cared about you.

“I hope the stamp of his voice saying that every time I saw him never leaves my memory.

“Just one look into his big blue eyes, followed by a big goofy grin, Johnny made you love him instantly. Absolutely one of the best men I've ever known.”
