Top 5 Beaches in Hawaii

1

Makapu'u Point Lookout

4.9

( 8 reviews )

Makapuʻu Point Lighthouse Trail, Waimanalo, HI 96795, United States

Hiking Beaches

“The hike to the lookout over the lighthouse takes about 30 minutes for the average walker. It's a paved road all the way up with stopping points. If you want to catch the sunrise ensure you start your walk ~45 minutes prior to sunrise so you can catch the dawn and get a good spot. The gate to parking doesn't open til 7AM so people park along the highway and walk around it to get in and start before sunrise starts. Don't be on the east (northbound) side of the highway as the ledge is steep and you will bottom out your car or not be able to get back on the road especially after people park in front or behind you. Park on the southbound side of the highway, opposite the gate.”

2

Poipu Beach Park

4.8

( 8 reviews )

2179 Hoone Rd, Koloa, HI 96756, United States

Beaches

“This was probably the best beach we visited in all of our visit to Hawaii. I'm sure there are better, but this was great. There's a nice shallow area to swim without worry of waves. There is also some excellent snorkeling. I saw 4 or 5 fish I hadn't seen snorkeling anywhere else in the world. There were some Hawaiian green sea turtles resting on the beach that were super cool.”

3

Kahana Bay Beach Park

4.7

( 8 reviews )

52-222 Kamehameha Hwy, Hauula, HI 96717, United States

Beaches Summer Camps

“This beach is so beautiful. We like to park in the designated areas. There's a public porter potty and a faucet we can use. There's also a nice big grassy field before making it to the beach with picnic benches. It's the perfect place to eat and hangout using a blanket. The sand is very fine here. The waves were calm and we were surrounded by mountains. Highly recommend coming here for the sights and to just have a relaxing beach day away from crowds.Always clean up after yourself and don't forget to comb over your spot to make sure you have all of your possessions and trash. Trash bins are located by the porter potty. Please respect the land.”

4

Kamaole Beach Park I

4.7

( 8 reviews )

75 Alanui Ke'ali'i, Kihei, HI 96753, United States

Beaches Swimming Lessons/Schools

“a very quiet beach with extremely soft sand, beautiful sunrises, and warm water in the mornings. this was our favourite beach of all the ones we went to in maui.”

4.8

( 16 reviews )

59-337 Ke Nui Rd, Haleiwa, HI 96712, United States

Beaches Swimming Lessons/Schools Surf Camps

“Ehukai Beach Park is the home of the world famous Banzai Pipeline and probably the most famous surf spot on the North Shore. It’s a long wide beach connected to Sunset Beach. It’s a little hard finding the beach if you’re not familiar with the area. There’s a parking lot or parking along Kamehameha highway. Luckily it was early enough that we found a spot close to the beach path. Bring what you need…and leave nothing behind. It’s a nice beach to explore! The highlight was watching the surfers do their tricks.”

6.

Kaiona Beach Park

4.7

( 8 reviews )

41-575 Kalanianaʻole Hwy, Waimanalo, HI 96795, United States

Beaches Swimming Lessons/Schools

”The only thing more beautiful than this lovely, but very small, beach was the locals we visited with. They actually restored this beach to bring it to its full potential and they were so very proud of it along with being welcoming and kind and telling us about the beach and rabbit island, which you see in the picture. Very beautiful place and people!”

7.

Kokololio Beach Park

4.7

( 8 reviews )

55-017 Kamehameha Hwy, Hauula, HI 96717, United States

Beaches Swimming Lessons/Schools

”By far the BEST BEACH EVER! The water is crystal clear turquoise, the waves get big and beautiful. The environment is so clean and calm. Perfect little hideaway break from the world.”

8.

Kapalua Coastal Trail

4.8

( 8 reviews )

99 Coconut Grove Ln, Lahaina, HI 96761, United States

Hiking Beaches Golf Lessons

”Doing this 1.7 trail (+ Dragon's Teeth Trail that it passes by) was one of my Maui highlights.”

9.

Kaihalulu Red Sand Beach

4.7

( 8 reviews )

Hana, HI 96713, United States

Beaches Hiking

”The trail to get here was horrendous… and dangerous… be sure to wear proper shoes for hiking that can grip steep and slick pathways…. HIGHLY recommend water shoes or something for the beach itself since it’s nothing but stones and pebbles, very painful to walk on, but man the view was worth it, and the water was warmer and fun to swim in for a bit. My 5 year old made the trek with us but he’s a good climber, had i known about the hike being so dangerous i wouldn’t have wanted him to come. The views are worth it, and the cool water is worth it. It would be a huge hassle to bring coolers or anything other than a towel to this beach, so I’d recommend only a short visit and not an all day stay.”

10.

Kekaha Beach Park

4.7

( 8 reviews )

HI-50, Kekaha, HI 96752, United States

Beaches Swimming Lessons/Schools Surf Camps

”Beautiful views, saw a couple turtles and fish in the water. There were some tidepools great for little kids (and are hot tub like for all ages). It was a little bit of a walk down to the beach, but the stone steps helped for some of the incline down to the shore. Was fun and not too crowded though it can be hard to get a parking space.”

11.

Little Beach

4.8

( 8 reviews )

Kihei, HI 96753, United States

Beaches Summer Camps Swimming Lessons/Schools

”Great family atmosphere. Teach children when they are young not to be offended by their own bodies. This is a natural, beautiful place. No harm whatsoever will come to them, and they will be the most free they have ever been. I promise you, they will thank you for these enlightened experiences when they are older. Nobody stares, it's just God's greatest gifts laid out before us, the majestic nature of Maui Beach.”

12.

Pupukea Beach Park

4.7

( 8 reviews )

59-727 Kamehameha Hwy, Haleiwa, HI 96712, United States

Beaches

”A very beautiful beach with a lot of rocks along the shoreline. Went on a day where it was cloudy, windy, and the waves were a bit too strong so we did not get a good snorkelling experience. I recommend observing the wave strength before trying to go in, strong waves and sharp rocks along the shoreline can be very dangerous. Recommend wearing aqua shoes to protect the feet from the sharp rocks.”

13.

Kawaikui Beach Park

4.5

( 8 reviews )

5475 Kalanianaʻole Hwy, Honolulu, HI 96821, United States

Beaches Fishing

”I took a wedding picture here 6 years ago, and I came back after 6 years, and it's nice that there aren't many people”

14.

Keawaula Beach

4.7

( 8 reviews )

Farrington Hwy, Waialua, HI 96791, United States

Beaches Hiking Swimming Lessons/Schools

”Keawaula Beach in Hawaii is a stunning 5/5 star destination. Its beauty is unparalleled, with incredibly fine sands and breathtaking sunset views. As a park, it closes around 5 to 6 PM, so plan accordingly. Keep in mind that flying drones is not allowed due to its proximity to a military area. Despite these restrictions, Keawaula Beach offers an unforgettable experience with its natural splendor and peaceful atmosphere.”

15.

`aweoweo Beach Park

4.6

( 10 reviews )

68-197 Au St, Waialua, HI 96791, United States

Beaches Playgrounds

”Small neighborhood park with bathrooms and a outdoor shower. Playground for kids as well.I walked through the brush and onto the beach. It's a short beach section with a little bit of a decline to the water. I was shaded for most of the morning. When I got into the water you have to swim out a little bit further to see some decent fish. If you find the cement pyramids that are submerged in the water, that's where I found the turtles and most of the fish to be. The water out there can be a little rougher so make sure you wear a comfortable swimmer.”

16.

Maunalua Bay Beach Park

4.5

( 8 reviews )

Honolulu, HI 96825, United States

Beaches Swimming Lessons/Schools

”This is a great beach and it’s rarely crowded. The views are great as well with lush in the background and volcanic on the other side. This is one of the best places on the island to watch the sunset from. Breathtaking.”

17.

Pu`uloa Beach Park

4.4

( 8 reviews )

91-027 Fort Weaver Rd, Ewa Beach, HI 96706, United States

Beaches Playgrounds

”A very beautiful and uncrowded beach. Diamondhead can be seen from here. Parking was not difficult, we quickly found a free space.”

18.

Hamoa Beach

4.7

( 8 reviews )

Hamoa Beach, Hana, HI 96713, United States

Beaches Swimming Lessons/Schools

”Nice beach and the water seemed very calm here. We didn't stay long as we had the road back to take from Hana and didn't want to do it in the dark.”

19.

Makaluapuna Point

4.7

( 16 reviews )

4946 Lower Honoapiilani Rd, Lahaina, HI 96761, United States

Beaches Hiking

”A viewing point on the West Maui where you get a wide angle view of the Pacific and it's blues. A light trail easy for beginners without any hassle of reservation and hustle. I'm in love with the view and ride. It's better if you reach there early in the morning or late in the afternoon. It's a completely open space with strong wind. if you love snorkeling IT is the SPOT that you're looking for. Turtles, fish, lobster and what not to see. Water is soo clean and blue you'll instantly fall in love. Crashing waves onto the cliffs is rather calming. You can sit on the beach nearby which is also not crowded at all. Overall it is a place which you can cover in 1-2 hrs. A top recommendation for sightseeing in Maui.”

20.

Kalepolepo Beach Park

4.6

( 8 reviews )

S Kihei Rd &, Kaonoulu St, Kihei, HI 96753, United States

Beaches

”The beach is a bit busy depending on the time of day, and the tide definitely moves super fast in the evening, so be mindful of the waves. Would recommend checking out the centuries old fish pond being rebuilt on one edge of the beach by a local pond warden. Stay off the rocks and at least 20 feet back at all times as the rocks and turtles are protected. Green sea turtles nest and sleep among the rocks to stay protected from predators, so please leave them alone.”
