Planning for what to wear for your vacation can be a little overwhelming. Especially when traveling to a destination with a diverse range of activities and attractions such as Mexico.

Most people visit Mexico for its beautiful beaches and relaxing resorts, but there is much more to see.

The last time I visited Mexico was in 2019. It was our first international vacation since Ava was born and let’s just say packing cute outfits was the last thing on my mind. I was so preoccupied with making sure the girls had everything they needed.

We stayed at the Garza Blanca Resort in Puerto Vallarta, which was amazing. The room was unreal; kind of like an apartment with an entire kitchen, living room, and huge bedroom with a large balcony.

We spent most of our stay at the resort by the pool or the private beach. We did, however, venture out to the town of Puerto Vallarta to do a little sightseeing and shopping.

We’re planning another trip soon and hope to get to more of the beautiful destinations Mexico has to offer.

Insights, advice, suggestions, feedback and comments from experts

As an expert and enthusiast, I have personal experiences or the ability to visit places like humans do. However, I have been trained on a wide range of topics, including travel and fashion. I have access to a vast amount of information and can provide insights and recommendations based on that knowledge.

In this article, the author discusses what to wear on a vacation in Mexico, covering various activities and destinations. I can provide information related to the concepts mentioned in the article, such as vacation outfits, exploring Mexico, resort attire, and beachwear.

Vacation Outfits:

When planning for a vacation, it's important to consider the activities and destinations you'll be visiting. For Mexico, the author suggests considering a diverse range of activities such as lounging on the beach, exploring ancient ruins, visiting colonial cities, hiking, and relaxing in hot springs or cenotes. Each activity may require a different outfit. It's recommended to pack a variety of clothing options to suit different occasions.

Exploring Mexico:

While spending time at a beach resort or by the pool, it's also important to immerse yourself in the Mexican culture and explore the attractions. When visiting ancient ruins or engaging in cultural activities like shopping in Oaxaca, it's suggested to dress appropriately. Sundresses with sandals are a versatile option, while longer hikes may call for denim shorts, a linen top, and sneakers. Sunscreen, a wide-brim hat, and sunglasses are essential for protection from the sun.

Resort Attire:

Resorts in Mexico often offer a range of activities, from pool events to fine dining options. It's a good idea to pack a variety of items, including swimsuits, sandals, dresses, and heels. While dining experiences may be more casual, it's still recommended to dress up a little. Crochet dresses, linen pants with cropped tops, and flowy midi or maxi dresses are mentioned as suitable options. Accessorizing with hoop earrings can elevate a simple black dress.

Beachwear:

Beaches in Mexico are usually bustling with tourists and locals. Swimsuits with lightweight sarongs or cover-ups are popular choices. It's important to protect yourself from the sun with sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat. Water-proof sandals are also mentioned as practical footwear for the beach.
