After a whole series of bundles with Collector’s Tokens, we finally got a bundle with Credits for all the split and Spotlight Cache lovers! But wait.. is this actually a good value? Let’s figure it out.

For 4,200 Gold, you typically can get 5,250 Credits through purchasing them in the shop or from 3,000 to 3,360 Collector’s Tokens, depending on which Token Tuesday you opt for: the more expensive or the cheaper one.

In other words, by purchasing this bundle, you’ll only get 250 more Credits if you consider the currency value. However, if you count in terms of the number of cards, it turns out that if you have almost all the cards and each Spotlight Cache can only offer you one new card, then the bundle will provide you with 0.01 to 0.07 fewer Series 5 cards than if you were to buy on Token Tuesdays!

And at a hefty price of 4,200 Gold, this bundle only offers an additional 5.2% Progress Value beyond the in-game shop, which is one of the worst ratios recently.

However, it’s important to consider that previous bundles mainly contained Collector’s Tokens, and it’s possible that the developers have reassessed the value of Credits, deeming them too valuable and useful, and consequently deserving of a higher price. Therefore, this factor should also be taken into account when comparing with bundles that include Collector’s Tokens.

Comparison With Other Bundles

When looking at the charts, it’s evident that the bundle, when compared to similar ones in terms of price, clearly falls short in Progress Value both when looking at the entire history of bundles after the Spotlight update and over the last 3 months, during which the value of bundles has decreased. And when examining all the gold bundles over the past 3 months, this bundle can at best be rated as average.

If we consider how good this bundle is in terms of Credits per Gold value, as the charts below indicate, throughout the entire observation history we’ve seen much better bundles, but all of those were in 2023. In 2024, however, as evident from the second chart, there was a quick emergence of a ‘credits pit’—a period when bundles were terrible in terms of the Credits to Gold ratio and were filled with Collector’s Tokens.

Therefore, after such a long break, a slightly better ratio could be a minor argument in favor of purchasing the bundle.

Given this, it’s prudent to say – if you have absolutely no interest in Collector’s Tokens, then the same increase of 250 Credits beyond their usual value might be a nice bonus for you. However, because of this, you shouldn’t consider it as a bundle, but rather as a temporary offer in the in-game shop when purchasing Credits.

The Usefulness Of The Variant In The Meta

Hobgoblin is a Series 2 card, which means there won’t be any cool stuff here and players with an incomplete Series 3 won’t be able to get a free chance to play with a card they don’t have. Therefore, we assess the usefulness of this variant in the current meta.

Hobgoblin is far from being the most popular or powerful card right now. It appears in some Lockdown builds and Junk decks with Professor X and Cannonball. However, such builds are in the minority, and the stronger builds do not include Hobgoblin.

The prospects for the card’s usefulness in the near future are also not high – throughout the history of Marvel Snap, Hobgoblin was only a mandatory card in Galactus decks, until Galactus was nerfed to the ground. Therefore, the variant for Hobgoblin is likely to see the light of day very rarely, if at all.

Conclusion

Thus, the bundle as a whole is quite dubious, and I can only advise considering its purchase for those who are already itching to buy Credits in the shop without bundles and who also have a lot of spare Gold. In this case, the deal is fine – essentially, you get 250 Credits for free.

But if you don’t have a lot of Gold and you have a decent stash of keys while not chasing splits – it’s definitely worth waiting and spending your Gold on something else. Especially considering that 4,200 Gold is an amount a F2P player earns over a whole two months! And this bundle with an extra 250 Credits just isn’t worth spending so much Gold on if you’re not too resource-rich. Therefore, 1.5 stars out of 5.
