Geography

The Maldives is made up of 26 ring-shaped atolls and over 1,000 coral islands and is the world’s most geographically dispersed country. This means that wherever you stay, you will feel as if you’re on your own private island within the Indian Ocean.

Malé is the most populated, and the most central city of the tropical islands. It is well known as the place for tourists to find the best shopping centres and restaurants, as well as being the island closest to the main airport. The area is one of the most popular areas for Maldives holidays, thanks to a huge range of adventure activities and plenty of opportunities to explore.

There are many more islands at the centre of the Maldives closer to Malé City, including Ari Atoll, Maafushi, Kuramathi, Meeru Island, Rangali and Rasdhoo to name just a few. Further to the south, there are a few more islands including Havadhu Atoll, Thinadhoo, Rathafandhoo and Madaveli.

Regardless of which island you visit, you’ll find stunning white sand beaches scattered across each, including Bikini Beach, Coca Island, Veligandu and Hulhumale Island. For picturesque tropical scenery you can't go wrong with a Maldives holiday to the Baa Atoll, which was named a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2011 and is home to truly incredible wildlife.

Attractions & Sights

The Grand Friday Mosque is situated in Manadhoo to the north and is the biggest in the country, attracting tourists and locals alike. Vaadhoo is located close by and is well-known for a natural phenomenon that turns the Indian ocean seawater electric blue. Reethi Beach, in the same area, is a 27-acre island known for its beautiful resort, dive centre and the world-class spa at the famous .

The Dive Club, in Malé Island, offers noteworthy activities such as an underwater scooter trip, scuba diving, fishing and island hopping.

Travellers will find plenty to astound them in the Maldives, including underwater nightclubs, swimming with whale sharks, fascinating cultural landmarks and plenty of white sandy beaches that really do look too good to be true.

Maldives holidays are almost certainly going to consist of relaxation and indulgence in one of the islands’ beautiful resorts. This is an island paradise, after all, and the beaches in the Maldives are unforgettable. So, time spent relaxing by the coast, basking in tropical sunshine and soaking up the sun is an obvious pastime. Many Maldives hotels and island resorts have a house reef for snorkelling, so water sports fans will be in their element.

From your island, you might choose to go island hopping to experience more Maldives holiday activities - from spa days to water sports. You could also head to the most built-up island in your proximity and seek out more adventures and get a taste of local life. The Maldives is perfect for adventure lovers, with activities such as water sports, markets, luxury spas and diving to shipwrecks available. Many Maldives hotels are ideally located for diving holidays - for example Kuredu Island Resort is surrounded by over 40 dive sites nearby, while the PADI Dive Centre at is renowned as one of the world's best. Most resorts offer a concierge service to arrange activities and can point you in the direction of the best adventures or offer inter-island travel advice.

Experience island life

When you’re not sunning it on the beach, Malé, (the Maldivian capital) is definitely the best place to see the local culture and experience life on the islands. The capital itself offers a fascinating experience for visitors. A densely populated city crammed onto one of the small islands, bright houses and crowded markets abound on this peculiar city stranded in the middle of the ocean.

If you’re feeling adventurous, most resorts offer the opportunity to be temporarily stranded on a deserted island (with a lunch provided of course) leaving you to your own devices to explore the pristine white sands - a modern, luxurious take on castaway.

Head under the sea

Diving in the area is a great experience for explorers, with local waters home to some of the most fascinating creatures in the ocean. The Baa Atoll is a particular favourite for those looking for a brush with marine life. Diving with hammerhead sharks and whale sharks is a once in a lifetime experience that is not to be missed. Resorts including Reethi Beach Resort and The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort offer amazing access to dives alongside whale sharks. A particular favourite for visitors is diving on the southern atoll of Addu, with the spectacular range of colours and variety of wildlife on show on this colourful coral reef.

Depending on the location of the island you are staying on, you should be able to easily access other islands to partake in numerous activities. You could also head to the most built-up island in your proximity and seek out more adventures. The Maldives has so many opportunities, with water sports, markets, luxurious spas and shipwrecks to explore to name just a few. This means that in amongst lounging around in your serene island paradise you can also get active.

Be pampered

The Maldives boasts some of the best luxury spas in the world, making it one of the world's top spa holiday destinations and an ideal choice for a relaxing break. Chances are, if you’re lucky enough to stay in the Maldives, you’re likely to be staying at a hotel that also has spa services included. Popular Maldives spa hotels include The Four Seasons at Landaa Giraavaru, , W Retreat & Spa and Huvafen Fushi.

Enjoy the crystal clear waters

A trip to the Maldives isn’t complete without getting out on the water. Malé is one of the best places in the Maldives to book water sports activities or boat tours in the area. It will also help you access other islands more easily through island hopping tours, allowing you to see more and choose your favourite from there. There are also snorkelling safaris available on many islands due to the abundance of house reefs and marine life to observe in the area. The house reefs at iconic resorts such as Huvafen Fushi and Embudu Village are amongst our team's favourites.

Common activities available include exploring shipwrecks, snorkelling with turtles and whale sharks, submarine tours, scuba diving, water skiing, banana boating, kiteboarding, windsurfing, jet skiing and windsurfing. For something a little more relaxing on the waves, why not try whale or dolphin watching on your next holiday?

Family adventures

Kurumba and Olhuveli Beach Resort are favourites for families looking for a perfect holiday that suits both parents and children, with children's clubs and babysitting services, both readily available.

The Conrad Rangali has an in-house marine biologist, who will bring the seabed to life for young explorers. Seeing turtles, octopuses, manta rays, and exotic fish darting in amongst the reef will almost certainly mean that they return home as lifelong marine enthusiasts.

Find a bargain

If you’re staying near Malé (for example at a nearby resort like Centara Ras Fushi or Baros Maldives, then you will be spoilt for choice if you’re looking to head out to shop. With the Malé local market and Centro Mall on Hulhumale in close proximity to neighbouring islands, you’ll have plenty of options to find the best shopping in the Maldives. Alternatively, seek out Le Cute in Malé or the STO Trade Centre (also in Malé) for great deals on local produce including tourist mementos, handcrafted items and electronic gadgets.

In a region famed for resembling paradise on earth, choosing an island to visit can be tough. From selecting the perfect beach villa to choosing between multiple private islands for your castaway picnic... it can be a difficult choice.

Lily Beach is well known for being home to one of the most pristine beaches in the Maldives. The resort also offers plenty of places to eat and is situated near many famous dive sites for those wanting to stay active. Located on Huvahendhoo in the south of Ari Atoll, Lily Beach is ideal for couples and families looking to kick back and relax during their stay.

Baros, on the North Malé Atoll, has been said to have the best lagoon in the whole of the Maldives. The beach has everything - from soft white sand and crystal clear waters to spectacular views. After basking in the serenity of this beach, why not visit the Lighthouse restaurant or go reef snorkelling?

Situated on North-Ari-Atoll, the beach at the Veligandu Island Resort has been ranked within the top 5 beaches in the Maldives and boasts picturesque beauty and stunning surroundings.

Last but not least, if you stay at the Dusit Thani Resort or Mirihi Island Resort, you’ll have a good chance of witnessing a superb natural phenomenon - the soft glow of the beaches in the dark.

This wonderful sight has to be seen to be believed, but will truly make your stay in the Maldives one of the most magical and unforgettable holidays you’ve ever been.

Janina W.

Located in the middle of untouched nature on Lamu Atoll, not far from the equator. The resort is in a well-kept, very pristine condition and offers a lot of tranquillity and, above all, direct proximity to the indescribably beautiful nature of the Maldives. It is a 4-star resort, which is particularly noticeable in the food. We had a great stay and I would recommend the hotel to anyone who just wants to take a deep breath, but I would definitely not recommend this place as a honeymoon destination.Location & surroundingsFrom Male Airport it takes another 1 hour by domestic flight, from there it is about 45 minutes by speedboat to the resort. The surroundings are simply fantastic!RoomsThe rooms are clean, functionally equipped and very spacious. We booked a Langoon villa and really enjoyed our stay.ServiceThe service is great! Everyone at the hotel is in a positive mood and extremely courteous. Our special thanks go to our room service Surendra and the bar keeper Rana, who made our stay extra special with good humor and niceconversations!5****!!!GastronomyThe choice of food is unfortunately very limited. Also, a lot of things tend to be repeated from day to day. I would generally describe the cuisine as rather local. We were always served enough and the food was fresh, but people who eat very selectively will not be happy here.Sport & entertainment- Massage - The massage was absolutely amazing! The therapists know exactly what they are doing and are super friendly and courteous! The value for money is TOP! - Diving - The diving center and both diving instructors are great! Thank you for giving us such a great time with you!

Absolutely stunning island with superb staff always happy to assist you especially Indri. The food is fine if you're creative and the chef in the main dining area is happy to assist with your preferences. The ocean view rooms are fantastic with outdoor bathroom and the Aircon in the bedroom is super chilled.. the cleaners are also very regular and efficient at cleaning the sand from the rooms. The whole experience was very relaxing with stunning scenery.. my only disappointment was no jet ski hire.. The canoes were great for a visit to small islands around it.. A huge thanks to Maafu who did me a Hugh favour whilst out on the turtle excursion..In whole I did enjoy my stay here and would recommend them if you're looking for a relaxing break.. thanks very much all at Raaha Resort.

Actually, a few things should be clear when you book a trip like this. However, the reviews here and experiences on site show that this is apparently not the case.- You fly to an island in the Indian Ocean. There is no way to drive to the nearest supermarket. Neither as a guest, nor for the resort. As a result, the selection of food and the supply of it is quite limited. In our case, we ran out of co*keLight after 4/5 days, but the supply ship never came. You can now spend the rest of your vacation getting upset about it, or you can drink something else. There is a choice.- It's quite surprising that people fly halfway around the world and then complain about the lack of fast food when they get there. Most of these complaints come from a nation which, apart from "fish fillet deep-fried in batter and thick deep-fried potato sticks", has no food culture worth mentioning. The average number of guests unfortunately corresponds to at least 3/4 of this nation. Accordingly, there were constant and regular complaints about the food, just because the food served in the Maldives is largely based on Indian, Sri Lankan and Maldivian cuisine. In the end, the resort gave in and from then on they served delicious dishes such as shepherd's pie, burgers and pizza. Of course, from then on everything had to be drowned in sauce. In the Maldives... After a conversation with the kitchen staff, they told us that they simply had to give up due to the complaints and the demand for fast food, mayo and ketchup. We then remarked that we hadn't flown 27 hours for fast food, but to enjoy authentic, local cuisine. We were then rewarded with Indian cuisine, which was absolutely delicious. What's more, the kitchen staff are of course also happy when they can do the real thing and not just any fast food.- There were complaints that drinks and food should only be consumed in the bar/restaurant area. The reason for this is actually quite obvious and became apparent in the evening: some people don't even manage to bring the glasses they have taken with them back to their room so that the room boy can take them back to the bar/restaurant, but leave them where they fall out of their hands. This is of course cleaned up by the staff the following morning, but it doesn't have to be. Just as there doesn't have to be any leftover food on the beach. This is of course also cleaned up by the staff. However, ants and other animals are still attracted to it. And then you complain when you have ants on your doorstep.- There's not a great deal to do on an island like this. You can swim, snorkel, dive, fish, hire equipment for stand-up paddling and kayaks, there's a pool table, table tennis table and table football. But that's about it. If you need more, you're probably in the wrong place on an island like this and should go to an entertainment club.- Perhaps the staff should also be mentioned here. The girls and boys do an absolutely great job. Always with a smile on their faces, friendly and helpful. You are welcome to leave a tip here. Our roomboy (#220) always got something from time to time, the minibar was always full of props, the bed was made up every day and cleaned to the devil's end. The staff work there for a few hundred dollars and I hardly think that a little more tip would ruin a guest financially. By the way, slavery is long gone, so you can treat the staff with respect, greet them or say thank you.- The massages in the spa are great. We had the Balinese massage, which was fantastic.- There are daily evening events in the bar, disco evenings, karaoke, movies, etc...I would especially like to thank:- Vamshi, the restaurant manager who took great care of us- Roshan at the cooking station for the best omelette- our chef, Avishka, who provided us with authentic Indian cuisine- Chiranjeevi who took care of our drinks- our Roomboy (#220) who kept our room super clean

Will and I stayed at this resort from 9th-22nd September 23.Beautiful, peace and quiet, just relaxing and snorkelling. The staff are excellent, nothing is too much trouble, they're very attentive, polite and respectful. We had an ocean view room, WOW!! you looked straight out of the patio doors, through your own walkway and straight into the beautiful Indian Ocean. We saw stingrays, eagle rays and swam in the water with the black tipped sharks... Amazing!!!Vamshi, was just brilliant at his job... Kavinder was brilliant on the reception desk... all the staff are brilliant and a credit to their General Manager, Manager, the wonderful Ricca. The chefs were great and we enjoyed the food.. thank you chefs.Nagendra, from housekeeping was great, the room was always clean, but I have to mention that he's also very talented when making special messages on our bed for our anniversary and my birthday.. the art work was beautiful.Vamshi is going to make a great manager some day if he carries on with his training. Vamshi, the nickname you gave Will has stuck with him....as you called him, the Professor!!!! :)Ricca, you are an absolute gem and a lovely person, it was a pleasure meeting you and would love for us to keep in touch. Finally, I would like to say thank you for making our holiday so wonderful, you are all amazing!!!!!The only downside we had was the trip to another island, it was nothing like the trip had been described. We would definitely visit again and would highly recommend this resort.Photo's will be posted later.Missing the island alreadyWill and Sharon Mullen from room 225

We spent a week at Rahaa Resort at the end of July. We had hot sunny weather everyday of our trip which was lovely, as this is typically the rainy season in the Maldives. The facilities at Rahaa are very clean and modern. We loved the food at the buffet and loved spending time under the beach umbrellas and Ko Bar.Rahaa is perfect for a relaxing escape. The island is beautiful and clean, lots of places you hang out by the beach.I did diving for the first time with Rahaa, initially I was scared and almost did not do it, however, the diving instructor Mamdhooh was incredible and helped me stay calm throughout the whole dive. Definitely recommend if you're a beginner!Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Rahaa and would definitely come back in the future. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating which made the experience even more special. The rooms are very spacious, we had a sea view and loved our little patio bit outside our room.

We spent 9 days in Beach Suite with Pool and this is the best option for families with children! We had always a choice whether we want to swim in the pool or in the ocean :) Also the atmosphere of the private pool is spectacular! Everything we experienced in the resort was 10/10! Food is amazing and gives lot of choices for everyone, they also can prepare something special for kids! Service was just excellent. Kids club is giving lots of attractions for kids. Everyone was having smile for whole day and we kept this picture in our mind when leaving! We can't wait to go back to this place as definitely this is our place on the earth

The hotel is situated in a great place and has a wonderful view. The rooms are cleaned regularly. I had a problem in the room with ants being in the toilet, but after notifying the hotel it was immediately taken care of.Hoetel shows some wear and tear but nothing that should be really concerned about. The wifi is a little bit slow and at some places not existent. The staff was 50/50, some were nice and some not so nice. The food variety was pretty good but for the most of the drinks in the bar you had to pay. After posting a previous review mentioning the problems above the hotel was quick to respond and kindly promised to take care of the problems.

Don’t normally write reviews. My wife and I had our honeymoon at Cocoon Maldives. We had such a wonderful time and the service and hospitality was amazing. We can’t critique anything on the hotel, staff or food. From arriving at the airport it was amazing. One thing I will do next time is carry cash with, rather than doing card transactions, most places aren’t reliable when it comes to signals.I wanted to thank Mush at the bar, Migu our concierge and housekeeping for doing our bed and making our stay wonderful. Thanks again and appreciate everyone helping.

I recently stayed at this wonderful resort in the Maldives, and despite a small incident on the first day when I broke my pinky toe, my overall experience was nothing short of fantastic. The resort's kind and compassionate doctor, Dr Sam, provided excellent assistance and made me feel at ease during my recovery. Moreover, the hospitality of the resort staff, particularly our contact person Munni as well as Jane and Mae from the restaurant, left a lasting impression on me. They were always welcoming and had smiles that brightened my day. In fact, the entire team at the resort is exceptionally courteous and helpful. The culinary experience was a highlight of my stay. The food was not only delicious but also of high quality, with a diverse range of options that catered to various tastes. What I enjoyed mostly was the fresh pasta made by Yuri. The best! The cleanliness of the rooms was impeccable, they were serviced twice a day, ensuring a comfortable and hygienic environment. The “get well soon” message found on my bed upon returning from dinner was priceless. In summary, this resort is a paradise in the Maldives. Despite my little incident, the exceptional service, delectable food, and pristine accommodations made my stay absolutely perfect. I highly recommend this resort to anyone seeking an unforgettable tropical getaway

We stayed in a lagoon villa which was lovely and clean and the decor was lovely. All inclusive food was only from one restaurant but why would you want to go anywhere else the food was amazing different themes each night also fresh cooked food, salads etc. Their bread was always fresh and the pastries were gorgeous as were their gateau’s and puddings. All staff were very friendly and helpful the whole island was clean and well looked after. Wonderful holiday

We stayed at OBLU EXPERIENCE for 4 days, 2 days beach villa and 2 days water villa with our 2 years old kid.Water villa is total waste, as you can't go to sea water if you dnt know how to swim, it is more than 5 feet height with stones constantly pricking. Beach villa is worth spending your money.Food is good but you have to follow strict timeline, as the day when we reached there, it was 2:45 pm and they have hurriedly taken all the food at 3 pm.!Spa and under water restaurant are worth experiencing. But the reception staff is horrible, specifically a lady named HAIFA. When we went to inquire about under water restaurant, she didn't mention that the restaurant won't allow us with kid for dinner, the next morning when we went to book a reservation for dinner, another guy told us so, and we had to change our plans. The same lady HAIFA made our last 12 hrs so terrible, when we went to reception a night before leaving to pay the remaining bills, she didn't accept most of currency notes stating these are USED CURRENCY, and intentionally tore 2 currency notes stating these minor(less than 1 mm) cracks can't be accepted,, she forced us to use credit card, but we waited till morning, and in the morning the reception guy accepted all the currency that she refused to accept..! She did such thing with others also. We came to know during our return. Removing 2 stars for such horrible reception staff.Otherwise whole trip was fantastic and memorable, property well maintained, beaches are nice and clean,, activities are also engaging, perfect for good relaxing vacation.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a fantastic hotel in the Maldives, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations. The food was simply amazing, offering a delightful array of multi-country cuisines that satisfied my taste buds. The stay was exceptionally comfortable, with spacious rooms that provided the perfect retreat. The atmosphere was serene, creating a peaceful environment throughout the entire stay. The restaurant itself was impressive, boasting a vast space that added to the overall charm. The resort was bustling with multiple events throughout the day, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere. For adventure seekers, there were numerous water sports options to choose from, adding an exciting element to the stay. What stood out was the impeccable cleanliness of the entire resort, reflecting a commitment to maintaining high standards.Having the choice between water villas and beach villas was a highlight. The beach villas, situated right in front of the beach, offered not only stunning views but also ensured privacy in well-designed spaces. The water villas were equally impressive, crafted with the right facilities to enhance the overall experience. For honeymooners, this resort is a dream come true. It's not just a place to stay; it's a romantic haven that caters to couples seeking a memorable getaway. The availability of internal vehicles within the resort made exploring convenient, allowing us to effortlessly navigate the vast and beautiful surroundings.Last but certainly not least, the hotel staff deserves commendation. Their exceptional service and willingness to assist guests in every situation added a personal touch to the entire experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this resort for anyone looking to make their Maldives stay truly special.

Rooms, ocean villa, absolutely stunning, a room with an open to elements bathroom and deck with steps in the sea. No robe placed in the room, amenities in the bathroom are not great quality (shampoo)..Just beautiful setting and absolutely loved saying hello to the fish whilst sat on the loo..! Food delicious and hot, wine is an excellent quality for all inclusive, entertainment is good.Location is stunning; however, this man made island hasn't established a good variety of fish and sea mammal, as yet.

The hotel has everything you need and the food was good for a buffet (lots of options) and the drinks were OK. For the price, I would have thought the drinks would be better. It was like butlins in the maldives which is great but not when you're paying thousands of pounds to stay here. Rooms were nice and they had ok snorkeling around the island. It's worth paying for the snorkel trip as you see so much more. The team at the water sports centre, however, will cancel the snorkel trip often and seemly just when they felt like it than any other reason. The 15 minutes free paddleboard/kyak isn't worth it. You are restricted to a small area and 15 minutes is nothing. We asked for flip flops in the room 5 times as the ones given were too small and on our last day one of the room attendants left us his pair of old used flip flops. Which is hilarious but not really what you want. The staff are nice enough but if you need anything they do give off the impression that they can't be bothered and that you are pestering them. I usually don't mind all this but as I said, not when you are paying thousands of pounds

I stayed at OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi for a week and I had a wonderful experience. The resort is located on a beautiful island surrounded by turquoise water and white sand. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, with stunning views of the ocean. The staff are friendly, helpful, and attentive, always ready to assist with any request. The food is delicious, varied, and plentiful, with different cuisines and themes every day. OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi is a perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy the Maldives. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable vacation.

A beautiful place to relax. A very peaceful environment where you can relax. We chose this island for our honeymoon and we don't regret it. Clean beaches, beautiful sand, very good food in restaurants. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. A small minus was the lack of cold water in the bathroom in the room. I hope we can return to this paradise in the future! Thank you!

What a fantastic tropical 5 star island! First time in the Maldives. Can not fault the resort. From flight from Male to the initial welcoming service. It was all fabulous, and exceeded our expectations. Water villas were spectacular. Imagine opening your curtains to the whole of the Indian Ocean. Service and food in the Water villa restaurant was second to none. The flavour combinations and presentations were as we would expect in a Michelin star restaurant. Waiter service helpful and friendly. Butler service to the water villas was good. Offering a 'what's on' and ensuring we got to excursions on time by golf buggy. Snorkeling..... If you love swimming with a miriad of tropical fish, this is for you. Either from the beach, or steps of the water villas you will see a fantastic selection of reef fish. We didn't want to leave, but every dream has to end. Hopefully see you soon, Adaaran Select Meedhupparu, and Prestige Water Villas Maldives!

Ljiljana Neubeck

We haven't regretted choosing Adaaran Select Meedhupparu as our honeymoon destination. We spent six nights in a beach villa that was impeccably clean and spacious with a beautiful view of the sea. The mini bar was restocked twice a day. Even though our wedding was seven months ago, they made us a cake and lovely bed decorations. The staff - housekeeping, gardeners, reception and waiters were incredibly polite. All restaurants were very nice but we need to say that after a day in the sun, we enjoyed the Chinese noodle soup corner the most. It was just amazing to have the chance to design your own soup. We also appreciated the Indian restaurant as the food was always delicious and something new to discover for us. Don't miss the chance to have a lovely, romantic dinner in Thavaa restaurant on the beach.Spending the evenings in one of the bars was also quite relaxing. The co*cktails and mocktails served in all bars were amazing. We then upgraded to Water Villas just for the experience. Our villa was nice, clean and it was certainly great to be able to just walk into the water and see all the fish around you. The food in the restaurant that belongs to the Water Villas was excellent. The waiters were all very friendly and helpful. We do hope to come back to this beautiful island.

My husband and I just returned from a 4 day break at this beautiful resort. From the moment we arrived, our super efficient and friendly butler Maftuna ensured that we were extremely well looked after! The food was always great, and there was a lot of variety on offer! Your water sports team ensured we did not miss out on a snorkelling experience of the house reef despite our inexperience! Our water villa was absolutely delightful and really thoughtfully laid out.It will certainly help if you manage to get an intercom system in place along with a room service menu.Thank you so much for a memorable experience!

Amazing resort with superb staff. F&B, Water-sports, Room service— all the teams were amazing. They will go above and beyond to keep you happy. The rooms were well-maintained and beautiful. The intercom facility is something which has to be procured for better communication in case of emergencies and time stringent activities. But I can not deduct your rating for this as I know you will definitely work on the same as it is a new property and it may take some time, which I understand. Rest all is great.Thank you entire team for a lovely experience and arranging the honeymoon night for us on coming to know we could never have it due to covid restrictions.I will recommend people to visit this place and have an experience like never before. Cheers guys.

The island is in north male 45 min boat drive, it is part of an artificial lagoon with others that has been developed recently to host this brand new resort. The villas and the restaurant are really good, service is great and it is a good idea to offer an underground Maldivian pop style in all the facilities including rooms. We loved the service in particular our butler Ath har always available to entertain our daughter Carolina and the chef Junaina who baked a cake for her birthday. However I was surprised to have seen so little fish and barely difficult to spot after several snorkeling sessions, as they offer so many activities included I would suggest to include a 3 hours reef snorkeling session in an island where visitors could see real fishes as this seems a big gap based on an artificial coral reef, also some activities where not really interesting and perhaps not something related to a Maldivian resort. In general it doesn’t feel a 5 star experience even though the offer and quality/price is reasonable.Recommended for some different experience from the typical luxury resort but not for sea explorer as not a lot to see.

We went for a family holiday and we chose this resort because it looked amazing on Instagram. Saddly when we went there we saw some garbage there and there but nothing too serious, it just needs a little bit more cleaning throughout the day. Our tourist guide Maftuna was very helpful and welcoming and gave us all the information we needed to have a good time. Also what's really cool is the welcome dance they give to all newcomers on the island and you can even partake in the dance with them to welcome other fellow tourists. The rooms were phenomenal and absolutely gorgeous. So many colours and paintings all over it really gave it an artistic cosy feel to it. The outside pool area was also super chill and beautiful to wake up to. The beaches are crystal blue and the water was always warm and clean. The food was also very flavourful and it had alot of variety, there's something for everyone whether that's a vegan or a vegetarian you have everything you need and also a very rich breakfast. As for the service the waiters were extremely nice and there was fast service, however they do need a little bit more professionalism. As for the included activities we had a wonderful time, what's really noteworthy is the entertainment, they brought live bands and very talented local artists to sing and dance for us and it was amazing. Also the snorkeling was fun and the reefs are rich and full of life and you can see many different kinds of fish and sea animals and interact with them. The only issue we had was the fact that there were some items that were supposedly included but they didn't have in stock which dissapointed us a little bit and how there are some places on the island that need some more work done. Overall amazing experience and I definitely recommend for any married couples or artists.

We booked this resort in September 2023 for our honeymoon (dates 13/02-17/02) but just two days ahead of our flights we saw that our booking has been cancelled without any notification, upon contacting resort & booking app we got to know that they cancelled our bookings because "their room prices we increased for those dates" and their mail went on our spam folder so we never received.1) they should've responsibly comtacted us for the samw concern so it wouldn't have missed by us.2) we booked alot of major hotels , luxurious as well around the globe but never in life we went through such a mess & once after booking, no body cancelled or bothered to alter booking due to new pricing 🤷🏻‍♀️Surely sued our long due planned trip & honeymoon taht too being too close to dates. We'll surely visit maldives but never booking OAGA again neither recommending to anyone!
