This place is full of information. The staff are super helpful and they have great maps for hiking trails in the area. They have a video room where you can watch a short 20 min video of the park. Very interesting. The building is brand new, very clean, safe and Covid aware.

Beautiful park. Excellent & creative interactive educational programming to interest the public in conservation!

Amazing views of the mountains, lots of informative hands-on exhibits for kids and adults. Beautiful art exhibits. One of the nicest national parks visitor centers we have been to!

A serene and a place everyone must go and see the beauty and wilderness of Yukon. Must take a glacier tour on a plane . Expensive but worth doing this life time experience for 1.5-2 hrs flight time from Hains Junction by Glacier yours. Daniel was our pilot and he is a amazing guys and tool us to near the mount Logan and Many other glaciers on the way .

Girish B — Google review

Their visitor information is full of so much rich informative information. Well worth the visit. Especially if u r not planning on hiking and seeing the wonders of the area first hand. Then stop in and get an idea of its beauty and its history, the people that lived & still live in the area. Plus the animals that live here.

Deirdre P — Google review

Beautiful park. Great information along the hikes. There are hikes available for all types of hikers

Freek J — Google review

The Parks Canada employee I spoke with was so helpful, giving me hike suggestions for hikes that factored in my interests, the current weather situation, etc. Very thoughtful and informative.

Dane B — Google review

Sad and weird they were closed today. I didn't read the sign, but I think the 17 other people I watched try the door did.I drove up from the lower 48. I wouldn't know what website to check to see if they were open today, I just went by Google that's says every day. 😅

Nomadic R — Google review

Shares a building with First Nations Cultural Centre and a Visitors Info Centre. This is an excellent place to spend time while in Haines Junction especially if you would like to go hiking and need help planning what to do. Fantastic displays with lots of hands on stuff, photos, and great stories. Very useful info centre with great selection of very useful pamphlets and booklets. Definitely stop here. Will take between 3-6 hrs to do all the displays.

Wildlife refuge

Nature & Parks

The Yukon Wildlife Preserve is a vast 350-acre sanctuary located just half an hour's drive from Whitehorse. The preserve offers visitors family-friendly nature programs and stunning views of the region's varied wildlife, including moose, muskoxen, mountain goats, bison, deer, caribou, elk and two kinds of thinhorn sheep. The animals can be seen in their natural habitats within distinct environments such as wetlands and cliffs.

It's like an arctic rehab centre/zoo, there's probably about 20 species in spacious pens including cliff ranges for the mountain goats. It makes the animals hard to view sometimes but it's a natural and humane habitat. Most people seem to take driving tours where they get off on foot at designated viewing areas, but others also just bike or pull a sled the entire way around. It's very quiet and peaceful.

Janice C — Google review

Very welcoming and informative staff. Sights were amazing and I got to see all of the animals. There is an option to walk the area ~5.5 km/3.4 miles or you can go on a bus and stop at the various habitats in the preserve. Would definitely recommend, great experience!

Bradyn A — Google review

Located about 20min from Whitehorse. They have a bus you can pre arrange for groups.I chose to walk the 5km figure 8 route. I went in April. Weather was good and fresh. A bit of ice but still easy to find bare sections for the walk. I unfortunately didn’t have my Cannon camera with me so my photos are limited by the lens of my phone camera. Still, it was a beautiful day and I did spot most of the animals. I missed the lynx and red fox and moose but I managed to get shots of the rest. The walk was peaceful and the scenery is beautiful. They had a turnout of 400 for the Easter Egg hunt the weekend before. So they have special events and school tours as well. Staff was fantastic- personable and informative.

J H — Google review

Cool place to visit - our tour guide was Doug! He was charming and knowledgeable. There was a variety of wildAnimals, such as Moose, Elk, Mountain Goats/Sheep, predatory birds. The compound was well kept, animals all seemed content. Walking or guided tours available. Great for schoolChildren.

J H — Google review

Really nice visit. We booked the bus tour as it was very cold (-20C) and we were so happy we did! Andrew (our guide and bus driver) was really nice and very knowledgeable. We got lots of explanations and anecdotes about the Yukon wildlife and the history of the preserve. Definitively recommend it!

Roxane C — Google review

We arrived later than expected but we had a great time! Beautiful wildlife and scenery! We saw most of the animals except the Arctic fox; they said she was hiding. We got to see the red fox bathing in the sun. We were struggling to return to the office on time before closing. They were so nice, they sent the bus to get us so we got to learn more about the park and the animals. Cool place to visit! Allow extra time to watch the animals and take your time to walk the distance.....

Sharon F — Google review

An amazing place and a wonderful experience. It was great to see all of the animals roaming freely in their habitats. Our tour guide, Andrew was knowledgeable about all of the animals and did a phenomenal job showing my husband and I around on our private tour! I highly recommend going here, nature at its finest.

Chelsea T — Google review

Staff is great but get ready for walking a lot. The entrance fee for adult is $18, but if you take the bus tour is $28. I recommend to take the tour bus if you’re not into walking, or you can ride your bike as well. It’s a 5k walking route, it might take you 2 hours to walk the whole way. We couldn’t see many animals though, they seem to be hiding away, but we could watch some of them from far. They have public toilets all the way.

Caroline T — Google review

Such an incredible experience. Our guide was so enthusiastic and informative and it was great to hear about the animals and the history of the preserve. We were lucky enough to see all the animals up close and take some amazing photos. Really cheap and easy to book and definitely would recommend to anyone visiting whitehorse. Thanks for making our trip from Aus worthwhile!

Zoe M — Google review

We took a guided tour here in this reserve from Whitehorse. We saw several moose, bison, caribou, arctic fox, mountain goat , sheep , lynx here. The reserve is very beautiful in winter conditions. It is a great place for a 2/3 hour day trip and some great wildlife photography. I will recommend this place and will definitely visit in summer/ fall.

Asmita C — Google review

I think we were just unlucky and did not get the views we thought we were going to have for some great photos. The people were very welcoming and friendly. The walking path is easy to walk even with a cane.

Sean M — Google review

Would highly recommend the bus tour, our tour guide was Maureen. She had a vast wealth of knowledge about the preserve’s history and all the different types of animals in the preserve. She was able to answer every question the tour group posed to her. The preserve does good work and it’s cool to see some of the animals so up close.

Dane B — Google review

Well worth the visit. Bring binoculars for some, they are given huge areas to roam, but some will be up close anyway because of food location or they find the bus interesting. Go here and then go to the hot springs.Even if you like walking, the bus tour (1.5-2 hours) is really informative, and stops at each animal. You can always walk it again after if you like (probably same amount of time depending on how long you stop at each animal). Thanks Megan for the great tour!

David C — Google review

It’s honestly beautiful, we were able to see almost every animal. We didn’t do the bus tour, just walked but the bus happened to be there at some of our stops and it was truly great to listen to the guide ⭐️

Candelaria S — Google review

What a gem! I've never been anywhere with such large enclosures for the animals. Be prepared to walk, because it is a huge place. We had great views of most of the animals. It was very peaceful as well. We're fast walkers (two adults, no kids), and it took us nearly two hours to do the whole thing.

Teresa M — Google review

We enjoyed the tour. Some of the wildlife were close enough to see but a few were in hiding. It is great that they have an abundance of land to roam and get away from us tourists but wish I saw the moose and the lynx on this visit.

Susan N — Google review

Lovely quiet place to visit if you’re keen to go on a 5 km walk around the park or be escorted by bus.Animals are given spacious grounds to roam on which can make it difficult to spot them sometimes.

Gioconda W — Google review

It was one of our highlights in Yukon! We were lucky enough to see a ton of wildlife up close. If you’re going without a bus tour, you can rent a kick sled. We also picked up a cute magnet at their gift shop, all proceeds go back to helping the animals.

Amity C — Google review

We visited with our Girl Guide unit from Vancouver, BC. The Wildlife Preserve was one of the highlights of our trip to the Yukon!Brittney, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable, and shared interesting information in a fun and engaging way. She was fantastic! We also appreciated the large and natural enclosures for the animals.Definitely recommend a visit to the Wildlife Preserve if visiting the Yukon!

Nicole F — Google review

My partner and I had an amazing time at Yukon Wildlife Preserve in March. It was really nice to learn so much about the history of the area and our guide gave us so much information about all of the animals. I highly recommend doing the VIP tour because you get to be there while they feed either the Lynx or Fox, it was a great experience! We'll be back in the Summer months!

Callum S — Google review

Their educational tours are fantastic for young people, our group learned a lot. The stories of rescue animals that end up in their care, whether for rehabilitation or the rest of their lives, are moving. 100% of gift shop proceeds go to the preserve.

Fiorella C — Google review

Definitely one of the highlights every time we visit the Yukon! Highly recommended the bus tours especially when it's chilly out and the guides are great. A great activity to do with kids :)

Tessa K — Google review

Highly recommend. Take a bus tour, you will learn a lot about wildlife and histories. Trying to find a silver black color red fox is really interested. Good for kids and family visits!!!!

The MacBride Museum of Yukon History showcases the natural, social, economic, and industrial history of the region. Visitors can explore exhibits on First Nations culture and beadwork as well as artifacts from the gold rush era. The museum boasts a large collection of photographs and relics from this time period, including old machinery and tools.

Interesting exhibits and artifacts about Yukon's history and culture. Definitely larger than I expected. The bus from the airport drops you almost right in front of it - I would recommend anyone visiting Whitehorse to include this museum in their itinerary.

Janice C — Google review

Took an educational tour of the Gold Rush exhibit and it was fascinating! Students loved the exhibits and interactive activities. Our guide was great. The animal exhibit also proved popular.

Fiorella C — Google review

This place is really an excellent tourist spot to learn about Yukon ‘s history and local culture. There are fantastic exhibits of animals, First Nations art, photographs, detailed exhibits of the history of gold rush. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Took us a couple of hours to explore.

Asmita C — Google review

This is an excellent museum. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking is $2/2 hour max on street parallel with the river. If you park on Main St. Max of 1 hour only. If you want free parking, there is a park near the bridge and it is all day and only a few blocks walk along the waterfront. You can also get a 3 day free parking pass if you request it from the visitor centre and have out of territory plates. This museum starts with some artifacts, beautiful art and history of the First Nations people that first inhabited the territory & some taxidermy animals native to area on the ground level. There are sections with the history of the impact of the gold rush era and changes in transportation and it’s effects. Dog sleds, trains, boats and airplanes. Information about the cold and how clothing developed with it. On the pep middle floor it has an art gallery with photographs and paintings of life and people from the Yukon. Also, a few exterior cabins and displays to check out. I was there in March so some were not accessible because of the snow. There is a small gift shop at the entrance & they host special events sometimes. When I visited they were getting ready for an art class to paint like the Yukon artist Ted Harrison. It took me several visits to see everything but I read all of it. It was well worth the $12.

J H — Google review

We are lucky to have free entrance to the museum and we are surprised how big it is. There are tons of artifacts and we spend way longer time than we expected. Also the Japanese lady working in front desk is very nice. We came to the museum 20 mins before it’s closed and we are very worried if we don’t have enough time. However the lady said she’ll be wait for us. She is so nice :)

Norma Y — Google review

An excellent museum about the Yukon and the history of the Yukon with artifacts galore and recreations of a saloon, radio studio, and store. First Nations art is beautifully displayed and there is a whole gallery of stuffed animals which isn't as offputting as you might think. There is also Sam McGee's cabin and the story of the Klondike Gold Rush.

Julian W — Google review

An excellent piece of Yukon history is presented here in a comfortable well thought out venue with twists. A mix of documentation and real artifacts, there is something for everyone. And don't. It's the gold panning daily at 2pm.

William S — Google review

Excellent museum - deceptively large. The museum gives an good history of the indigenous peoples in the area, the Klondike Gold rush as well as the communities made (or destroyed) as the Alaska Highway was built. $12 for adults is a reasonable entrance fee.

Carolyn M — Google review

Excellent museum. Lovely staff. Very well informed. Recommend a visit.

Louise S — Google review

Very interesting place to visit to learn about the history of the Yukon. It has several different styles of exhibits and everything is nicely laid out. The section with Yukon wildlife is especially interesting.

Julia — Google review

It’s a must do if you are in Whitehorse. Some sections were like stepping into a different time. It’s a small museum, can finish in about 2 hours easily but everything packed a punch and I was fascinated and learned a lot about the amazing Yukon. My trip wouldn’t have been complete without this stop.

Girish C — Google review

What a beautiful place to visit. The exhibits were informative and engaging. The Yukon is so rich in history, and MacBride museum was a wonderful place to explore this?

The S.S. Klondike National Historic Site is a vintage sternwheeler ship that played a significant role in transportation during the 1898 Klondike Gold Rush and remained an essential mode of transport for decades afterward. The largest sternwheeler of its time, the SS Klondike II was built from original parts salvaged from the first ship after it sank and transported ore from silver mines between Mayo and Whitehorse until 1955.

Enjoyed my stay at Whitehorse. The S.S. Klondike was, definitely, a highlight of my stay, being able to board and explore the Klondike was quite the experience.

Bernadette T — Google review

Such a cool boat and history! Finally got to see if and knock it off my bucket list.

Michael G — Google review

Love the history behind the S.S. Klondike. It has been preserved beautifully. I recommend reading through the fact boards since they do have some phenomenal fun facts!

Vittoria T — Google review

Looks like a great experience, but the ship was closed for repairs. There isn't a completion date at this time. There was an outside tour available and two movies. The staff was great! They answered questions and offered information about the ship. 3 stars simply because of the closure.

Nancy I — Google review

Stopped in to visit this museum and ended up hopping on a tour that had just started for an extra $10.The tour was interesting, very professionally done by parks Canada, and the other visitors struck up a conversation and asked good questions. I recommend the tour rather than just looking around, as you feel more like you have experienced the real thing.

William S — Google review

Very nice old historical vessel. Very good prepared and restored. We learned a lot on how shipping of freight was conducted in former decades. You can explore the ship on your own, take a self guided tour with an info flyer booklet (2$), or the guided tour aproxm. 6$. Ask and register in the visitor Centre in front of the cruiser. We met also the resident fox family. Very nice 3h trip in whitehorse.

Silvan S — Google review

Nice movie detailing the history of the stern wheelers on the Yukon. The guided tour of the ship was disappointing because restoration work prevented us from going inside. That was supposed to be done in May. None-the-less, our guide was excellent and it was well worth stopping at the park.

Terry M — Google review

I didn’t do the tour, but there was an informative historical video (about 20 minutes) and a brochure that was about $2 which explained everything you need to know about the boat. While the boat is undergoing repairs and only the lower level is able to be accessed at the time of writing (July 2023), it was still a worthwhile place to visit while in Whitehorse.

Dane B — Google review

While they are in the midst of doing restoration, the cargo level and engine room areas were open for viewing today. The self-guided tour leaflet was a helpful guide. If you have a national park pass, you can use it for free admission. The film that was shown in the building next to the visitor center/gift shop was very Inter with original footage of the riverboats on the Yukon River.

Corinne S — Google review

Worth the stop, a marvel of the time. $4.70 per adult, kids go free. You can get guided or self guided tours. Free informative mini documentary next to the visitor centre.

George B — Google review

Although the ship was not open, it's great to have a preserved steamship, and I like how accessible it is in terms of being able to walk around the ship so close to it, to marvel at it, take photos, and read the contents of the description boards around the ship, even at night in the middle of winter. It was also beautifully lit up! The only thing was many of the boards around the ship were dark and can't be read unless I turn my flashlights on -- it would be a lot nicer if there were illuminating lights!

Andrew Y — Google review

It is great to see the real SS Klodike there not only on the picture. I hope to come back one day in summer time to see it inside

Aneta L — Google review

The museum was closed when we arrived. But it's still a cool piece of history to go take a look at.

Scenic spot

Nature & Parks

Miles Canyon is a recreational canyon that formed about 8.5 million years ago and is located just minutes away from downtown Whitehorse. The area features basalt cliffs, rapids, hiking trails, and diverse wildlife. In the past, gold prospectors faced treacherous waves at Miles Canyon before a hydroelectric dam was constructed to calm the waters.

Absolutely stunning views. Highly recommend taking a hike to view Miles Canyon. The suspension bridge offers great views and an absolute geological marvel.

Kian S — Google review

Pristine water and beautiful colors of the canyon. It's a painter, photographer heaven. Lucky to visit it on a Lovely day and admire it's whole beauty. As far as services there are a few box toilets ,a bridge that leads you to multiple trails and a information board. The hike to the bridge from the parking is hardly a minute. Though there are not a lot of parking spots, on road parking is available till a mile. There are two small grounds which make for a nice picnic spot on both sides of the bridge.

Sumeet S — Google review

Nature’s gift to man. Clean. Fresh water in canyon. Green smooth water flowing. Wonderful experience for a Naija boy.

'Kole O — Google review

What a sweet spot. I know it's on the recommended things to do in whitehorse. But saying that it wasnt one bit busy. As you can see from the video we had the whole lot to ourselves.

Irish O — Google review

Beautiful spot 15 mins from downtown Whitehorse. No need to pay for a tour if you can get a cab there. We spent a few hours here. The trails are beautiful. Be sure you bring proper footwear. The Black trail and Yellow trails both have pathways that can be a little slippery. There are two access points from roads. I recommend stopping at the visitors center in whitehorse for directions and to ask which access routes are open if you are traveling in winter.

Renee L — Google review

Very close to whitehorse. I loved the it. They offer guided tours on specific days/hours. This attraction is worth visiting.

Abdullah E — Google review

This is how it looks on April first week really good place to hike. The through road is closed in winter so have to walk 10 more minutes to get here.

ASCHARYA A — Google review

Only 10 minutes drive from downtown Whitehorse, this canyon both wild and incredibly beautiful. One of my favourite places visited during the trip driving to Tuktoyaktuk from Ontario.

Lazy T — Google review

Excellent walking area along the Yukon River - and a suspension bridge! Easy access with free parking and free tours during the day.Local walking trail map at the entrance. Careful along the edges of the river, as the 6m cliffs are not fenced. Bring a picnic and enjoy the spectacular views very near to Whitehorse.

William S — Google review

Such a beautiful location! The Color of the water is stunning! Hiking trails - two levels - upper and lower - which gives good opportunity for photos and scenery. 5:5

J H — Google review

Great lil walk for all ages. Id be a little nervous with an off leash dog. Pretty quick walk and very scenic, splits into numerous other trails further on. It has its busy moments but if you wait them out, it's worth the view!

T — Google review

A must visit if you are in the area!Beautiful hike with so much to see.

Taha A — Google review

Lovely stop and fun to go over the bridge. Not a ton of parking at the bottom but more along the road. Tons of trails connect from here as well. Viewpoint overlook up the road.

Amanda H — Google review

I have visited Miles Canyon twice, in September 2022 and September 2023. I hiked down from Whitehorse in 2022. I cycled down in 2023. It's a bit of a hike down but on a sunny day it is great! The Canyon is a 'must-do' when you are visiting Whitehorse. Cycling down is quicker of course, but Miles Canyon Road offers some incredible views from one of the Look-Outs. The Canyon and trails are easy to navigate, but be careful along areas immediately adjacent to the water below. Use common sense. Trails have decent signage. Guaranteed that you will be snapping plenty of photos. Wear good shoes with traction or hiking boots. Have a wonderful time!

Raymond I — Google review

Beautiful spot for a easy and short hike with a cool suspension bridge. Not much of an elevation. Parking can get tight during busy times. Portable toilets by the upper parking lot area. Can get quite windy. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Bar

Formerly a brothel, the lively Red Onion Saloon in Skagway is an amazing stop for drinks and American eats in a lively setting. The bar is frequented by tourists and locals alike, with its history being a main draw. Plus, at the top of the stairs there's a museum dedicated to America's oldest profession - prostitution.

This place is hands down the best brothel I’ve ever been to. Great pizza and fantastic margaritas! Also has an amazing vibe, kind of like the dive bar you’ve always wanted in your life.

Krista D — Google review

Fun, historic, restaurant serving food and alcohol in a 1800's-style brothel atmosphere. The "Ladies" (including the waitresses) wear period-style costumes and play-up the characters of the time, along with the double-innuendo and word-play you'd expect in such a location. This is a popular site to visit when the cruise ships come in, so there may be a wait for seating - especially during meal-hours.

Dave S — Google review

We visited here on a stop during our excursion while on our cruise on the Celebrity Millennium. Great little stop. Tour guides were in period costumes and were both friendly and funny. Tour showcased some local history.

Blaise V — Google review

Home of the $10 "Quickie"... Tour. Once a place for lady's of the night and men of the gold rush era to come together and enjoy the warm of each others company. The saloon gets a old time feel all staff are dressed to the era. The bar offers local brews and you can also get a bite to eat. Wraps and pizza.

Hungry S — Google review

Meet historic building that used to be a brothel. They still give tours of the upstairs, and the downstairs is a bar and restaurant. I know it seems very cliche, but we ordered the pizza and the nachos and it was fantastic. Especially after being on cruise food for several days. They offer a tour for $10. I think our meal was about $25 total. Which is not bad considering you were in AlaskaMy rating system consists of a 3-star being exactly what I expected and neither good nor bad. A 4 means something was extra special whether it was service, food, staff, etc., and a 5 means I was blown away. A 2 star rating was disappointing with no offer to correct the experience and a 1-star rating was terrible

Joe T — Google review

Oh just a really fun place. Good food. Atmosphere was awesome. We took the tour from the ship that included breakfast and drinks and a tour and stories. Neat ro hear of the history nad fun to have breakfast with Madam Onya Johnson and Madam Ophelia co*ckburn. Take the tour if you have time. Yes they practice good covid protocols.

Tim N — Google review

Went here for dinner on a recommendation and was not disappointed. The pizza was very good and the staff very engaging. Awesome saloon vibe and great place to relax after a day of exploring. If you find yourself in Skagway for any reason, this place is a must.

Mel B — Google review

We did not want to eat dinner on the ship so we decided to walk back into town for some dinner. Red Onion Saloon was a blast. The bar and original floors are just beautiful. It's an old Brothel so a really unique experience. The food was very good and the service was nice as well. They also offer tours. Highly recommend giving this place a shot. (Beer was also cold and tasty.)

Randall B — Google review

We walked by this place at lunch and the line blocked the sidewalk and a lane of traffic. We went back into town and grabbed 2 pizzas to take back to the ship, and I understand why.Fantastic pizzas. Friendly service. Great vibe.

Joshua O — Google review

Fun historic Bordelello Breakfast, gold rush cemetery & city tour. Bloody Marys & other Frank's included. JIM was a great guide

Nedra C — Google review

This place is unique. An old timey saloon with its own fun quirks. At one time it was a brothel and the original structure, crib rooms and trinkets are still on display. The "Quickie" was a fun 20min tour of the Brothel Museum and it was worth it. The girls were FABULOUS. They did a great job explaining the history and creating fun ways to make little things (like wallpaper, IYKYK) incredibly interesting. The pizza is delicious. The Dirty LaVoie is wonderful. The server we had on a busy Saturday night was quite the ball of joy. Even though she stayed WAY later than her shift was (I think someone called in ? Or something) she stayed and helped set up the band coming in (New Twin) and still waited all the tables. She even recognized us the following day when we came back from the Quickie.Definitely a stop you should make while you're in Skagway.

This was a nice little stop with a brothel museum upstairs. The food was good, and the museum tour upstairs was pretty cool. I'm not sure it was worth $10 a person, but it is what it is. The server was a little short it seemed and failed to explain that we could pay the brothel for fee to her on our bill and needed to pay cash. The madam, Willie, was pretty great actually.

Matthew B — Google review

Totally worth the visit. The co*cktails are great, but make sure you try the local distillery selection of hard liquors. Our favorite was a rye from a neighboring town. The $10 tour couldn’t have been better. Our guide was informative and funny and completely made our day.The bartender (I think her name is Katie?) was super fun and knowledgeable. We had the best time for under $100While we didn’t try the food, the couple next to us had the hummus platter, which looked amazing and we might go back for it on our way from the cemetery. The couple said the plate was really great and the bartenders said ‘Told ya so’, which to me means it’s a *thing* there. The place smells amazing too. Like pizza and good times. Absolutely worth an investment of time!

J O — Google review

Our group did the brothel tour and it was very well done by our guide. They played the part in a fun but very educational way that kept you interested - highly recommend!

Madison D — Google review

Took the Brothel Tour with Madam Betty. No worries, it's a walking tour of Skagway. It's a great history tour that tells the sordid and dangerous times during the gold rush of the 1800s. Betty was fun, sassy and very knowledgeable about everything. It was eye opening about life back then, for both the miners and the ladies.

Richard M — Google review

Pizza was on point! In all honesty, the cauliflower crust was better than the regular! On top of the loaded nachos being perfectly made!

D B — Google review

A very interesting little saloon in the heart of town that should be on your must-see list for Skagway. We only had a beer here but they do have a food menu as well. Prices for both food and drink are fair. They offer upstairs brothel tours at designated times for $10.

Scenic Railroads

The White Pass & Yukon Route Railway is a historic train ride that takes you up steep tracks carved into the sides of mountains, through charming small towns and then across glaciers and waterfalls. It is a must-do for those visiting Skagway for the first time, as it combines history and nature to give you an amazing glimpse of Alaskas stunning scenery.

Science train ride. Employees are very courteous and informative. Great value for the money. Train passes through a lot of curves and peak of the mountain. Good outing for the family.

Abhi S — Google review

Great excursion! The train cars appear to be brand new and well maintained. There is a stove in each car to heat it if necessary. There is also a bathroom and water. You can either view from your seat or go outside to the viewing platform. Due to covid border restrictions, the train is currently only doing round-trip journeys to the Canadian border in 2022. The views are amazing and you are given great historical information as you travel. The track is also very well maintained and you can see evidence of constant work and upgrades.

Michelle D — Google review

Absolutely amazing. It's no wonder this is one of the "Scenic railways of the world"Great narration, comfortable, incredible views. Take a car as far back as possible so you can enjoy the outside of the train snake around the curves and through tunnels. A must do if in the area

Christa D — Google review

We did the bus ride up to the summit and rode the train back down. It was incredibly beautiful and worth every penny. The history was really interesting and very well presented. The staff on both the bus and the train know their stuff! You need your passport, as you do go through Canada 🇨🇦, so custom agents check you before you can get off the bus and again before you get off the train.

Michelle H — Google review

Super unique experience in Skagway! Took this train on the way back after spending a day in Yukon and it was well worth it. The train itself is quite rustic in a good way and offers scenic views of the surrounding land. It was also narrated which was great in letting us know what to look for. They had complimentary water & washrooms on board as well as hat for purchase for $5 each.

Emma — Google review

This is a must do if you’re in the area. The train ride is very scenic and beautiful with plenty of opportunities for pictures. It is staffed with park rangers who are very knowledgeable of the area and who can answer any questions that you may have. The train cars are warm and weatherproof so if you are in inclement weather, this would not be an issue. That being said if it is very foggy out, it would be a waste of time, because so much of what makes us a great trip is the scenery which you would miss if you were fogged in. Lots of opportunities to see wildlife, especially eagles.

Sean P — Google review

Great tour! Very beautiful scenery! Took the 2.5 hour tour to the summit. Heated cars and bathrooms made the trip comfortable. I would definately go again.

Tim L — Google review

We had a great time riding this train up through the mountain passes and enjoyed all the scenic vistas. The narrative was informative but sometimes difficult to hear over the click and clack of the track. The train loops at the summit so both sides get different views. Well worth it!

Robert P — Google review

Highly recommend! Gorgeous scenery! Our family took this train you the top and the took Sock Eye Cycles back down the mountain. Absolutely perfect scenery and atmosphere on the train. So much snow that made many waterfalls! Fully recommend going in May.

Jodie H — Google review

This was a great day. Highly recommend taking bus up from Skagway all the way to Yukon territory.Along the way the bus will slow down/stop when you see 🐻/wildlife and also stop for lunch and other opportunities to see breathtaking views. Then come back down to Frazer to take the train back. Gives you different prospective of the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park and so much more!

Simon C — Google review

What an amazing train ride. The history that was told along the ride was captivating. The train had about 100 people but there was plenty of window space to get your own window views. We traveled 18 miles up the mountainside. I would have loved the Yukon Route but I believe that ride was about 110 miles. (Not sure we would have had the time)

Joel K — Google review

Absolutely beautiful. We did a cruise ship excursion through Alaska 360 and this was one component of the tour. Some other options are longer and stop in Canada, which requires your passport, so make sure you know if you need it! Neat trip. Loved it.

Jz T — Google review

Absolutely beautiful scenery with a knowledgeable tour guide. Took the White Pass Summit Tour, and the ride can take 2-3 hours, depending on the weather.

An amazing excursion but quite expensive! The train cars appear to be brand new and well maintained. There is a stove in each car if required. There is also a bathroom and free water. You can either view from your seat or go outside to the viewing platform, which is exposed. Due to covid border restrictions, the train is currently only doing round-trip journeys to the Canadian border. The views are amazing and you are given great historical information as you travel. The track is also very well maintained and you can see evidence of constant work and upgrades.

Just incredible. We were so happy to go in early May while the mountains were still covered in snow. The gorgeous weather offered fantastic views and the train ride through the white pass was incredible. Definitely a memory I will hold dear for years to come.

Julie J — Google review

The views from this train ride were spectacular. The history comes to life riding in the old rail cars. It's amazing to think this rail line was built by hand and even more incredible, people hiked this route to get to the gold rush in the Yukon. Very cool experience. You can also take one of the scheduled rides and be dropped off and picked up at the glacier hike trail.

Cathy A — Google review

Experienced the railway ride from Skagway to Bennett and the Yukon all on a glorious summer day. I would give this 6 stars if possible. The terrain covered by this railway cannot be matched. Mountains, lakes, glaciers, waterfalls, the best of our planet. The seating was very comfortable and the staff very friendly. Standing on the rear platform allowed me to capture some stunning photos and video. Easily the highlight of our 7 day Alaskan cruise. Make sure you take the full ride up to Carcross Yukon. Especially if you love trains.

Ron H — Google review

This was an awesome excursion! The scenery is beautiful, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the area and the gold rush. Definitely sit on the left side of the car if leaving from Skagway. Stop in the train store after, or before for all your train needs. If you like old trains, history, and beautiful scenery, this trip is a definite yes!

Kelly H — Google review

The White Pass Railway Tour was absolutely outstanding! From start to finish, it was an adventure filled with breathtaking scenery and historical insights. The journey through the rugged Alaskan wilderness was like stepping into a postcard, with towering mountains, lush forests, and pristine lakes all around. The guides on the train were not only informative but also incredibly engaging, sharing fascinating stories about the construction of the railway and the Gold Rush era. I felt like I was transported back in time, experiencing a piece of history. The train itself was comfortable, and the large windows allowed for uninterrupted views of the awe-inspiring landscape. The route, with its twists, turns, and dramatic changes in elevation, kept me captivated throughout the journey.I couldn't get enough of the stunning waterfalls, the mesmerizing Summit Lake, and the majestic trestle bridges. And when we reached the White Pass Summit, the feeling of accomplishment and the panoramic views were simply unforgettable. This tour is a must-do for anyone visiting the region. It's an extraordinary way to connect with the natural beauty and history of Alaska. The White Pass Railway Tour exceeded my expectations in every way and left me with memories that will last a lifetime.

Jl M — Google review

Beautiful ride up the mountain for a little piece of history. I would definitely plan this ride if you make this trip, it's well worth it. The views are amazing. My only suggestion would be to bring some kind of seat cushion with you because the seats are horrible and uncomfortable. Enjoy the train ride!

Jodie W — Google review

This train ride is the best train ride i will probably ever take! It is so comfortable and relaxing that you want to doze off at times. What wakes you up are the breathtaking sights and the freshest air you could ever inhale. I loved my time in Alaska and I loved this train ride!

Helena A — Google review

We enjoyed our train ride. It felt plenty long, ample opportunity for photos and video. We even briefly crossed into Canada before looping back. I gave it five stars, but I do wish there was an option to wear a headset to listen to the guided tour. We had an unusually loud group of people in our particular train car, so we couldn't hear the majority of the information over the speakers that the guide was sharing. We enjoyed the scenery and appreciated that there was a restroom in each train car. They also offered complimentary bottled water. Overall, we loved our train ride.

Alyssa S — Google review

I had a fantastic experience at the White Pass Train Railway Station! Not only is it famous, but it also offers a wonderful array of amenities. The souvenirs store, with its partial sale, was a treat to explore, offering a variety of unique items to remember the journey by. The café provided a cozy atmosphere to relax and enjoy a delicious meal while taking in the stunning views. The convenience of the ticket counter made the entire process seamless. This station truly enhances the already breathtaking White Pass Train journey and is a must-visit for anyone looking to make their trip unforgettable.

Nature & Parks

Jewell Gardens is a flower and vegetable show garden located in Skagway, Alaska. The gardens are renowned for their impressive displays of wildflowers and vegetables, as well as their annual contest to see who could grow the biggest rhubarb.

My wife and I visited in October 2019 as part of the last ship of the season. We had a great time, picked up several gifts for friends and relatives and we each got a great globe keepsakes. I bought some display lights from Amazon and keep these in the living room. Aside form a great in-depth look at glass making, everyone there was supper fun and happy. The snacks were okay, but being end of the season I’m sure we didn’t have the normal experience. Due to weather we also didn’t get to explore, just the making and snacks. But still worth every penny.

Robert G — Google review

We booked a glass blowing experience on the website in May, only to arrive 9/15/21 to find out they have been closed all season. Had to walk the 2 miles from the ship as the shuttle driver told us they had were closed and no buses. Since they had our $284 and had confirmed our booking we thought maybe someone would be there. No luck, but the lawn guy let us look at the gardens. Hoping Max will refund my money promptly.

When they're open, and when they're in the zone, this is easily one of the best restaurants in town. Great staff, epic setting, just outside town across the bridge... yes. Recommend.

I visited here a couple of times as a seasonal resident. The events they host are well put together and the grounds are beautiful. Staff has always been super friendly to other workers in town and are always helpful.

Liarsville Gold Rush Trail Camp & Salmon Bake is a restaurant located in Skagway, Alaska which specializes in fresh salmon dishes. The camp is set in the forest next to beautiful waterfalls and the salmon bake offers a unique experience of grilling fresh Alaskan salmon.

Absolutely outstanding display of culinary badassery, complemented by a good show. The owner is not only a culinary badass - he & his wife are superb raconteurs, and he has some decent music skills, too.Salmon is OUTSTANDING - and the rest of the spread was pretty awesome, too.

Maybe it was season opening jitters and getting into a groove, but disappointing. Transportation was messed up due to previous engagements of busses. Dozens were waiting sometime for rides back to town. Entertainers worked hard to keep people interested with their campy routines, not knowing whether gold panning, eating or song & dance was next.Gold "panning" consisted of being given a pan wifh gravel and told to rinse off the gravel and we could find some preplanted flakes. A time consumer whilst Kitchen crew scrambled to clean tables & dishes for the next round of hungryprospectors. Fortunately we only had 20-30 in our group but still had to wait for food to be restocked. At the end of the line was a small sliver of open flame over cooked salmon. It went down fine and returned for another helping of the all you can eat entree only to be told to wait until the rest of the 6 people in line got their first portion. Second go round was better than the first.Previously strolling in town passed a couple of nice breweries and skipped sampling knowing that brew qnd wine were waiting up the valley. No beer, no wine just lemonade, hot powdered cider and coffee that wasn't ready for drinking. Also advertised was a quality gift shop that was closed. Our suggestion is taking in a local brewpub (skip the Red Onion because of the lines)and head up 4th St to "Skag Co" as the locals call it for a pint and burger.

Liarsville was part of a larger shore excursion we booked. We were driven out to the gold rush trail camp in the woods. It was great to learn some of the local history and Klondike gold rush lore in an entertaining setting.First, we were treated to a brief show in their “hippodrome,” a covered tent area with log bench seats. The show was fun and funny - reminded me of something you’d see at a Renaissance Fest, a little silly, a little bawdy but fine for families. I wish it was longer - I’m not sure if it would have been longer had we not been on an organized tour.Next, we had the chance to pan for flakes of gold. We were all given pans with pre-selected dirt and the guarantee of finding a few flakes as we swirled our pans in the water at raised tables. Our visit ended with a salmon feast and y’all, this was where Liarsville really shined. The meal was outstanding! There was a buffet area of side items and chicken. The salmon was cooked to perfection by two attentive chefs on an open grill and the brown sugar sauce they added to the salmon and cornbread was MOUTHWATERING! We went back for seconds, and would have had a third helping if we weren’t so stuffed! There was also a young man playing live music on guitar who was really talented and that added to the great experience.

Lisa G — Google review

The food was outstanding, the hosts were very polite and energetic. It seemed like they really enjoyed having our group. They put on a great show! So glad we picked an excursion that included this stop.

Part of our best of Skagway tour, food was good, plenty to eat. Saw the show and did some gold panning. Staff was welcoming and accommodating. Rustic setting, so dress appropriately.

Great and amazing place to travel in time and picture how the people use to live and trayed things in those times. Great performance from the hosts and great show. Food is food and they can fit up to 400 people.

Jonatan V — Google review

A great place to eat the most deliciously prepared salmon (the highlight of our trip), roast marshmallows over an open pit fire, pan for gold, view the waterfall, buy a trinket or two at the gift shop and enjoy live music- all the while, just enjoying the experience! My best family-time day of our cruise.

Located in Skagway, the Yukon Suspension Bridge is a popular attraction for tourists and families. It offers cultural and geological information, along with spectacular views and a reasonably priced gift shop. While the restaurant may be closed during off-peak seasons, visitors can still enjoy a great shopping experience in the commercial area nearby. The bridge is part of a scenic excursion that combines the best of the White Pass Railroad with an expedition to this unique destination.

My family and I stopped here with our tour group and it was a really cool experience. The bridge is very sturdy, they have plenty of historical information, and there’s some quick snacks to pick up. We got ketchup chips, which sound weird but taste amazing

Josh W — Google review

An interesting stop along the Highway from Skagway to Whitehorse. A Construction Group built a suspension bridge over the Tutshi river and built a number of out building and areas to view the scenery. There is a gift shop and museum along with a number of exhibits. Great views and a fun rest stop.

Joseph J — Google review

It’s not really a restaurant, but more of a scenic attraction. There is a snack bar with quick to go foods and hot and cold drinks. A museum, historic poster boards throughout the place, historical artifacts, and over course the fascinating suspension bridge going over the Yukon River. Parking is limited, but it is an amazing excursion to take from a cruise. Recommended!

trl1971 — Google review

Such a nice place! Lots of places to sit, drink coffee and enjoy the scenery. The gift shop is pretty expensive so we skipped on the souvenirs. The best place to take a selfie is in the middle of the bridge! They also have cute frames on the other side to take photos with.

Stopped here by chance and were definitely wowed! This is a fantastic place to stop and check out the sights. The woman who works the gift shop was a delight to speak to. Very friendly and informative. T-shirts are amazing quality and such a great price! All set up with gifts for family.Bridge and surrounding outbuildings are beautiful. Loved everything about this stop!

We visited as part of a tour group, so our admission was included and we only had 45 minutes to walk around. We didn't have time to eat there. The views of the Tutshi River are wonderful, and the suspension bridge is interesting, but there's not much else to it. It's a bridge to nowhere, because the other side just has some observation platforms, a few information placards, and a mock up of what a gold prospector's cabin might have looked like. The main side also has a restaurant, gift shop, and 2 sets of rest rooms. Frankly, it struck me as a tourist trap, but without knowing how much they charge the general public, it's hard for me to say. They will stamp your passport for free.

Don D — Google review

Definitely worth a stop on our drive to whitehorse. This is a nice facility with lots to see. They feature cultural and geological information for tourists. There's spectacular views and a great reasonably priced gift shop. The restaurant was closed when we stopped. I assume that was because we came in off season. This a a great place to bring the whole family. Wheelchairs can't go across the suspension bridge but other than that a wheelchair should have decent access to the site. They have a mammoth tooth in the restaurant.

Xochitl C — Google review

Great snack bar! Get their famous bison chili!! Make sure you read the story of the miners along the path to the bridge. Someone has a wicked sense of humor. Best outdoor museum exhibit reading I've seen in a long time. Chilkoot Charters & Tours took us out there. Mike and Heidi were the best tour guides.

Beautiful views!! We went here with a group tour to the Yukon sign (Southeast Tours), and stopped here along the way. The views were magnificent, the areas were clean and organized, and the staff was friendly. We got some food at the cafe as well - the selection was limited to spend snacks and premade sandwiches, and a homemade bison chili. We got the chili and it was great! Overall, I definitely recommend checking this place out - you won't regret it!

David N — Google review

After a beautiful drive through the Yukon, we had such a fun time at the Suspension Bridge! They had a fun scavenger hunt for all ages. The views are incredible! Keep your eyes open for wildlife along the drive!

This bridge is amazing. The owner was in the restaurant and was super nice and informative. The food was great. They have plans to build a museum eventually! The views were incredible, and they added a Canadian flag for Canada Day. 🇨🇦 Definitely worth a stop.

A unique experience in the Yukon. It's definitely worth doing once. We came on a sunny day, and the views were spectacular. The bridge takes you to a nice wooden walkway that offers great views and the opportunity to see a reconstruction of a miners cabin.

Caribou Crossing Trading Post is a must-visit destination in Yukon, offering a unique experience with its Wildlife Museum featuring taxidermy exhibits of ancient and modern Northern creatures. The site also boasts a wildlife gallery, petting farm, and restaurant. Visitors can enjoy dog sled rides at specific times and interact with real sled dogs and puppies available for adoption. Additionally, the trading post provides clean facilities and friendly staff.

Greedy alpacas, aggressive goats, grumpy donkeys, elegant Spirit… always feel refreshing after visiting there. Food is awesome too by the way.

A pleasant trip to see sled dogs and take a dog sled ride . No snow though. Just ATV ride with dogs attached to give them exercise in the off season. Included lunch: BBQ chicken, Cole slaw, salad, lemonade. Donuts.

Sandra B — Google review

We stopped here on our Skagway Tours bus. Food was great. The museum was informative. Got to pet the Alaskan huskies. All the staff are really friendly.

Adam W — Google review

It's not a bad place but not great either. Too long of a drive, food is mediocre. They have petting zoo with like 10 animals. The taxidermy museum is goodbut nothing that you have not seen if you have been in a Natural History Museum like the Smithsonian. The staff is helpful and nice. We didn't ride the sleds because what I saw was a extralong four wheeler pulled by the dogs. Not impressed at all. Just the scenery in the way there and back.

Typical tourist attraction. The lunch ( included in our tour) was average. Friendly staff. Sled dogs & puppies were great. Free museum & petting zoo

An excellent spot for a bus stop with a great lunch. The BBQ chicken lunch was flavourful and filling, with unlimited coffee and cinnamon doughnuts. Who could ask for more! The museums on site are full of curiosities and artifacts from local history.Lots of t-shirts and miscellaneous tourist stuff. The friendly staff were helpful. The washrooms were clean and modern..

Came here during a bus tour and we loved everything it had to offer! They had a dog kennel with sled tours as well as a wildlife museum and spots for food & drink. Chicken lunch was quite good & they offered complimentary tea & coffee as well as donuts. Just wish we had more time here! For the dog kennels:Came here during the summer so it was definitely not in season but was offered a great experience regardless! Admission to the kennel itself a free but dog sled tours are $45 per person for a 15 minute tour. While pricy, you can definitely see why it’s well worth it. They take great care of their dogs & even foster puppies as a partnership with the local humane society. Definitely recommend this!

Emma — Google review

Open in the summer,Carbon Crossing attracts tourists and locals alike. Located 45 minutes from Whitehorse or about an hour and 30 minutes from Skyway Alaska you will see tourists from both sides of the border. There is a gift shop with Yukon items including clothing and toys. A full restaurant which primarily services bus tours and a cafe which serves sandwiches or snacks like ice cream. The real attraction though is the live animals. You can pet horses, llamas, goats, and cute husky puppies. If you're up for seeing how huskies love to run you can book a mini sled pull where they have a team pull a side by side converted for guests. If you are looking to get close to larger and more dangerous animals you can do that too. There is an exhibit with bears and various wild cats that are showcased. Finally if animals aren't your thing, try your hand ar gold panning where you could catch some real gold with a steady hand, a good eye, and some patience!

Dylan S — Google review

Interesting place to spend an hour or so. The husky ride is more of a ride on a powered golf cart while the huskies run in front. The BBQ chicken isn't the best but it's edible if you're hungry, otherwise full up on the bread.

Olly K — Google review

You have to try the dog sledding. It is so much fun, and the dogs are so smart and amazing! But watch the bumps! :-)

Cynthia O — Google review

So cute. The petting zoo was great. All the animals would pose with you for a pic. There were a bunch of husky puppies to play with. Inside was a large room full of stuffed animals from their taxidermist. The provided lunch was good. There was a vegetarian dish, not sure what that was. We had chicken, potatoes, bread, and coleslaw. The chicken was very tender and juicy. They have a little gift shop for souvenirs. Clean bathrooms.

Melissa L — Google review

What an amazing place! We rented a car and drove 2 hours from Skagway. We bought the package before we went, and it was worth every cent! We started with a summer dog sledding tour followed by a short talk about this amazing sport. We then had a great BBQ chicken lunch. Great gift shop and wildlife museum. The petting zoo was amazing as well. What an experience in Yukon, Canada! The drive to get there is also fantastic!

Brian W — Google review

We were here 6 years ago with our teenage kids when we were in Skagway for a port day. Our kids had fond memories of the dog sled ride, petting farm with the huskies, and museum. We were in port again last month with our kids and teenage grandkids. We didn’t go with a tour company both times and beat the crowd by coming early. We rented a car in Skagway both times. The staff are very friendly. Our kids and grandkids tell us that it was one of the highlights and memorable experiences they had during our Alaskan cruise. This is a great place for the entire family.

Went to Caribou Crossing on a tour of the Yukon. A really cool place like walking into the wild west. The food there was not bad, the chicken didn't have a lot of flavor and tasted old. But the rest of the food was not bad. The food was part of our tour through Viator. The people were friendly. They had sled dogs and various other animals like a petting zoo. Prices for souvenirs were a bit pricey but was expected.

Mark K — Google review

We drove from Skagway to Carcross after coming into Skagway on a cruise ship. It was a beautiful and scenic drive even seeing a bear alongside the highway and visited Caribou Crossing Trading Post. The staff was amazing being both friendly and knowledgable and the dogsled experience was a once in a lifetime experience and well worth the trip. The lunch they served was great and nice to be able to have a cold beer in the restaurant as well. The kids loved the puppies, goats and walking through the museum. Definitely recommend!

Joe M — Google review

Great time, friendly staff, good food. Lovely animals!

We arrived here on a tour bus from a CRUISE SHIP. We had a nice meal of BBQ chicken, Cole slaw & roasted potato. There was self serve coffee & tea & some delicious donuts included. There was also soda & beer for sale. All of the meal staff were friendly & upbeat. There was a nice gift shop that lead to a RCMP Mueseum & I think also a taxidermy Mueseum. Then there was a petting zoo area with goats, donkeys, a horse & pony, & PUPPIES 🐶! The puppies were being held for the humane society but there are also sled dogs. Our family has 5 kids from 17 to 8. We all had fun. A bonus is we made it the Yukon. WOULD go again.

Mathew G — Google review

Chicken dinner supplied as part of our excursion was OK. I found it a little difficult to eat with the supplied wooden cutlery, but it's all in the name of reducing plastic use. The BBQ sauce was tasty. I found the coleslaw a little dry, I prefer a little more mayo on, but this is just me. The baked potato was a good size. Again, I would have preferred sour cream to go with it, but in the rustic flavor of the meal, it was OK.The RCMP museum and animal taxidermy is a must see, along with petting the puppies. Let me know if the Daal sheep have moved.

Carcross Desert, located just under an hour from Whitehorse, is a unique natural attraction that offers various outdoor activities. Despite being called a desert, it's not technically one due to its humid conditions and some vegetation. The area features sand dunes popular for hiking and sandboarding, as well as winter sports like snowboarding and cross-country skiing.

Beautiful drive down the South Klondike hwy to Carcross desert. Amazing landscape, a desert in the snowy mountains!

Ellie K — Google review

We loved visiting The Carcross Desert on May 14, 2023. Both my kids had fun dipping their feet in the soft sand! We would give it a 5 star rating, but due to uncontrollable elements, such as the wind causing the sand blowing into our eyes, we are giving a rating of 4 stars 😀

Akvabela M — Google review

I would say it a must if you go to Yukon. Nothing really exceptional about the place but the landscape is just so different from everything else around. I would suggest to go and take a stroll in the sand and enjoy the solitude and the emptiness of the desert

Felix G — Google review

One of my favorite stops on the Klondike Highway. Please be respectful of the site. The sand is slowly disappearing over the years.

Michael G — Google review

Smallest desert in Canada. At the end of August we walked without shoes there and we enjoy the magnificent view as we also had a good weather. Try to go in summer without shoes. So much fun.

Mapolenka S — Google review

Sand dunes with a beautiful view (if you climb to the top) we'll marked, directly off the highway. Outhouses, small parking area.

Sandra O — Google review

Very interesting place to visit. Feels like a different world when you get there.

Jacob S — Google review

Nice desert! Not too far from Whitehorse! Offer a nice view of lake, forest, sand and mountains at the same time! Wasn’t crowded and plenty space to explore!Bring some sunglasses to protect you from the sand flying in your eyes when there is wind! It draws some nice pattern though!

Franck B — Google review

A place where you get to see the sand dunes and snow capped mountains at the same time. Beautiful place for off-roading and to walk dogs too.Saw many dune buggies having a good time. The dunes are pretty steep in some places.

Sweety T — Google review

It is amazing to see a desert in this area. The kids liked playing around in the sand dunes. The view of the mountains in the horizon was spectacular.

Catherine H — Google review

Fun little stop on the side of the road. Lots of tour buses from Skagway were stopping here so was pretty busy. But lots of desert to walk across and tons of plants.

Amanda H — Google review

it was a welcome change of scenery, although I think I would enjoy it even more if no ATVer with noises and dust

Cindy B — Google review

A local Yukon favorite in the summer for walking, quading, or motor biking, this desert is actually a dune that wss part of Lake Bennett. In the winter this is still a great spot for snow shoeing and tobogganing. It's close to Whitehorse so it's a great way to spend a weekend afternoon hanging out.

The Sign Post Forest is a unique and offbeat attraction that houses a vast collection of signs from around the world. It originated in 1942, when a U.S. soldier added a signpost with the direction and distance to his hometown in Illinois while repairing signposts along the Alaska Highway. The number of signs grew gradually over time, reaching 10 by 1990 and now exceeding 77,000 spread over several acres.

Though this place hasn't anything apart from the licence plates.. It holds a historic significance and a good place for taking shots. I would recommend tourists to get something in remembrance of their trips and add that to this post.. Many have done and it's a good memory..

Devipriya R — Google review

I was last here in 1982, and there were maybe a thousand signs. Now, in 2022, there are more than 55,000! It was started in 1942 by an US Army engineer working on the Alaska Highway who was homesick. Bring a sign from you hometown if you are headed up the Alaska Highway. Truly an amazing and remarkable place.

Adam R — Google review

Sooooo fun!Great way to get out stretch your legs and look at historyI guess a guy was hurt here and put up a sign to his home town and it started a tradition 100,000 signs laterI just love this!I visited 30 years ago and it has grown even larger!

Katie O — Google review

Cool little attraction, we didn't have the right shoes to go through it all.

Mark A — Google review

I have been here 4 times now and still love it!! It's a must stop and a great place just to relax for a bit and stretch your legs! Watson Lake is a delightful full of some of the nicest people you will ever meet!

Vicki V — Google review

This is a really neat and unique place to visit if you are heading past on the highway up towards Alaska or down towards the lower 48. I would give yourself 15 or 20 minutes or so to walk through it and I found out after the fact that you can bring your own sign to add to it.I had not done research ahead of time, so it's not something I realized but it's pretty neat to see all the different signs from different states and countries and all over

Nicole — Google review

The signs stopped in time! You could spend hours reading everyone’s signs, definitely a must see when travelling through!

Michael J — Google review

Lots and lots of signs from all over the world. Fun to walk through and a few picnic tables and park benches so you can stop and take it all in. Bring your own sign and a hammer if you’re coming this way!

Elizabeth P — Google review

Very neat forest of signs from all over the world! Bring your own so you can fount it up here!

Billy R — Google review

Visited mid February so the snow was very deep. Still very fun to visit.

Zach H — Google review

This place is pretty neat. We really enjoyed walking around reading and looking at the sign even added one of our own..

Jeff M — Google review

The sign forest is a great way to spend time and relax from the drive north to Alaska. I spent over two hours walking around looking at different signs, stickers, license plates etc. Seeing people’s stuff left behind and brought from other states and countries is really cool. There’s probably thousands of different things to see and just when you think you’re done, something else catches your eye and leads you a different direction. The forest has grown quite a bit since my first time through in 2005.

9T0E7 — Google review

Its one of the famous landmarks on the Alaskan highway. There are more than 70000 signs big small from people all around the world. Some of them are really funny. We really enjoyed reading though them. The place has a few picnic tables where you can enjoy a coffee or have a snack.

Sweety T — Google review

A right of passage for anyone traveling to Alaska! There are several large parking areas... Across the street, behind at the visitor center and on the other side is another large parking area. Don't forget to bring your sign or sticker!

Cruising C — Google review

Worth a short (and even long) stop along the way on Alaska Hwy. I know there are few Czech posts, but I had a hard time to read just a few of those thousands of signs. It is incredible place and definitely worth it to spend more time than just few minutes as I did last time.

Milan P — Google review

A nice walk through geography around the world in 80 minutes. Religious signs advertising, and verbosity need to be removed, though.

Brian M — Google review

My favorite "tourist attraction" in Canada thus far. People custom-made some of the signs specifically to post here as they traveled through the Yukon! There were also license plates, street signs, hiking boots, etc. It felt almost "spiritual" to stand in the middle of where so many other travelers have stood. As someone who loves traveling as much as I do, this almost felt like a pilgrimage or a sanctuary of sorts 💕

hapakoleahapahaole — Google review

Amazing place and an absolute must when driving the Alaska highway. Make sure you bring a sign of sorts to leave !

Michael G — Google review

Definitely one of the coolest tourist attractions on the Alaska highway. Also one of only a few attractions that grows because of its visitors. The forest has grown considerably over the decades and you can easily spend an hour or more wandering in it. I'd consider this a mandatory stop on the highway if you have the time.

Marshall S — Google review

I designed a sign to leave here weeks in advance. It had to incorporate our current places we live as well as our hometown in Germany (Maring-Noviand). It is mind-blowing how many signs are in this sign forest. The ladies in the visitor center even provided us with a hammer and nails to secure our sign for future travelers to see. So cool. I wished I had time to read all the signs.

Museums

The Fort Nelson Heritage Museum, located near the Alcan Highway, offers a quirky and informative experience for travelers. This family-friendly museum features a diverse collection including mounted animals, antique vehicles, old telegraph equipment, and more. Open during the summer season, it provides an affordable opportunity to explore interesting artifacts with historical significance. The museum also houses a memorial that reflects on the urgency of past times. Visitors can expect friendly and knowledgeable staff who enhance the experience with their professionalism.

Probably one of my most favorite museums I've ever been to, an absolute must visit!

Michael G — Google review

Stopped by this afternoon to check out the museum as the hours listed say it’s open until 7pm however it was closed. Saw a sign outside indicating there are different fall hours but it doesn’t say what those are.

The staff are very professional, knowledgeable, and super friendly. Hands down the best museum I've ever visited, I recommend this one to everyone!

Bree R — Google review

This museum deserves a full day of just wandering around and finding the hidden nuggets. There is so much to see and read about. The people who put this together were able to find bring together a lot of unique articles that had a lot to do with the local people.

Rose H — Google review

Interesting artifacts and truely historical significance. The urgency of the time is displayed on the memorial in front of the museam. Something maybe bith Americans and Canadians have forgotten with time, peace and prosperity. It will definitely be interesting to the few American friends of this country that we have left and one to visit.

Chetwynd Chainsaw Carvings is a must-see attraction in the small town of Chetwynd, located just 100 kilometers from Dawson Creek. The town hosts the International Chainsaw Carving Championship since 2005, drawing talented carvers from around the world. Visitors are amazed by the abundance of beautiful carvings scattered throughout the town, making it an enjoyable adventure for families and photography enthusiasts.

What a majestic place to visit…. If you can get over the long dirt road to get there, which sucks. But Defs an awesome view

Matt — Google review

The drive is long but the view is worth it! This is an incredible natural wonder! Great viewing platform and well marked trails. Take the drive because the falls are amazing!

Tyler W — Google review

Kinuseo falls are amazing and it is wonderful to be able to see them from the top and even better if you hike down to the river and see them from the bottom. We thought we were the only ones there because the parking lot was empty but when we hiked down to the river there was a riverboat parked right in the middle of all our pictures. We waited over an hour to be able to take a nice picture but the boat never moved. I guess the companies that take tourists on riverboat cruises only care about their customers. Why can't they be considerate of other visitors and park their boat a little downstream so they don't ruin everyone's pictures? It's a very long bumpy drive to see these waterfalls, so you'd think it would be a wilderness experience.

M V — Google review

Fantastic experience, wash rooms present, and a small day use area. A small gravel path from parking lot to viewing deck.Gravel road from Highway Turn Off,

Marco M — Google review

Big falls. Free. Lots of hiking trails for all abilities and ambitions. Spectacular views.

Tim G — Google review

Waterfall lived up to expectations in terms of pure beauty, enormity, and remoteness. A real gem that is not overdeveloped so you can have space to take it in. Great platform above which is accessible to all but also a few trails to get an upper view and a view from the river below. Thus allows a great perspective. Very out of the way but the falls is a gem in a park and area filled with a treasure chest of natural beauty.

Nilesh P — Google review

The falls are low right now. Aug. 26 2022. But very wonderful. The road in can be a bit rough. But once your there it is worth it. Take the hike down to the river and sit on the beach or hang out at the benches along the way. The views are incredible.

Tyler G — Google review

One of most stunning places I’ve been! We went there for a friend’s wedding last weekend and it was breathtaking! Magical! 🤩

Dayane L — Google review

Kineuso Falls is the most beautiful waterfall in western Canada in my opinion. Worth the drive. 3 minute walk from the parking area to the falls, then an amazing 1.2km hike to the viewpoint, which is worth the hike. The road is can be rough, so make sure your spare is good. The campsite is great as well. 2 minutes down the road from the falls, and pull through RV sites. $20/night. No power or water(the only way to camp)

Ben N — Google review

Travel to the small British Columbia mountain town of Tumbler Ridge and stop in to see the dinosaur museum and get information to guide you to Monkman Provincial Park. You can eaily drive on a maintaned gravel road down to Kinuse Falls on the Murray River. Two main observation decks near the parking area afford spectacular views. The lower deck is wheelchair accessible and is a very easy walk from the parking lot. The first upper level viewing area is about a 10 or 15 minute walk up a trail. This is not accessible to wheelchairs. The climb is a little steep but the path is well defined and you don't need to be in top physical condition to make it. It's easy to stop for a breather and enjoy the local plants and forest. New viewing areas are developed but I haven't visited them. They ate all on built and maintained trails from the upper viewing area. These falls are amazingly beautiful and you feel like you have the whole valley to yourself. This is a must-see destination in the northeast of the province. Tumbler Ridge is a picturesque little town with lots of friendly and helpful residents. It's also the base of a World Geopark. It's truly a crown jewel in the midst of the province of British Columbia.

Very educational and fascinating. You would need a couple of hours to cover the walk through .... well organized with live working workshop ... kids "bone bed" that even adults can have fun. Theater, cafeteria, and gift shop included.

Mike M — Google review

I was so incredibly disappointed with the museum. Brought our out of town family who have never been before and what a waste of time and money. My third visit... the first in 3 years, and definitely the worst by far. Almost all of the feature stations were partially broken if not completely broken, the place was dirty, the bathrooms were disgusting, the service was next to nothing. So overpriced for what it was. We will likely never be back. A beautiful building and tourist attraction that holds so much potential but is now nothing but a disgusting disappointment. This can be done better. The best part was the playground and we could've used that for free. Cafe was closed so can't offer a review on that, although past experience was good. Dont waste your time or money on the museum. If you make the stop, enjoy the playground for free, otherwise don't bother.

LyndenJolene F — Google review

Family of 6 visiting, great interactive experience for the kids. Plus was the sand box with all the fossils the kids could find. The elevator was currently out of service, but the building was clean and not crowded,The gift shop was pricey. Admission price was fair for all that came with the tour and exhibits that were open for viewing.Kids loved the kids dome and the laboratory look out.

Marco M — Google review

What a disappointment…. I was here when the museum was first opened up many years ago and it was great. Lots of interactive exhibits, lots to see and do, a great experience. It’s now a few years later and more than half the exhibits are either broken or not working, the gift shop was sparse at best and most of the screens and projectors that show the cool stuff are either turned off or also broken.Let’s not forget this is oil and gas country so there is “sponsored by” exhibits everywhere so keep that in mind when viewing the exhibits. The curator and executive director need to step things up, get those exhibits fixed and working and start attracting some new major exhibits to get people flowing through.A huge disappointment!

Will B — Google review

Most amazing service ever! The owner went above and beyond to accommodate my family visiting. She made things so special for a group of extra special kids. Thanks so much for your extraordinary service. We will be back again.

Sarah C — Google review

Not bad, was expecting quite a bit more in the building. Exhibits are great, the kids play area outside is quite large and there's plenty of parking.

Marina B — Google review

Took the kids for an outing on Saturday. The displays are interactive and there is lots of things to touch and feel to immerse you in the experience. There were quite a few broken displays though, which sad because it's likely the public that caused that. They were hosting a scavenger hunt with Halloween candy as a prize and the kids got super excited to play.Gift shop was well stocked as well. Nice that they also have a Cafe there.

Valerie C — Google review

Great little spot with some cool fossils and bones and a lot of history around Alberta. Also seems like a great spot for kids

Great place for the kids to learn, play and enjoy some shopping which was very affordable. The items in the gift store are very fitting and not expensive at all which I assumed it would be. The playground is wonderful and you can watch the kids play while you eat at the restaurant. The food at the restaurant was delicious and has something on the menu for everyone. I cannot wait to take them back.

S. S — Google review

Interesting exhibit, the side rooms weren't open but still had enough to look around at. Could see into the lab where they were working on samples. Some activity tables and "dig area" for kids. Had a niche and very relevant exhibit that connects to the oil and gas industry. Great rest stop or day trip. Adjacent cafe and playground are a bonus!

Chelsea K — Google review

Small but very interesting and interactive museum. I probably wouldn't make it a destination trip next time, but on the way somewhere very well worth to stop by and visit. They so have good size parking, really good quality cafe and tons of things to do for kids. Very good visit!

Muskoseepi Park is a centrally located city park in Grande Prairie that offers numerous amenities, including a play area, dog park, amphitheater, skate park and sports facilities. The park features several picturesque ponds and hiking trails as well as picnic facilities and even a bowling alley. It also boasts a water park and mini golf for kids to enjoy along with food trucks serving up treats like ice cream.

Fun for the whole family. We spend a day and a half in the park. So much to do…we took in a mini golf, ice cream, walking trails, skate park, water park, pool/water slide, and playground. There are picnic tables all around some in the shade some in the sun! One of the nicest city parks I've visited over the years.Very extensive with lots of trails and areas to explore. Clean and neat.No issues with being hassled for money etc. and no "shady" characters, on my visits to date. That was especially appreciated. One star off as a quiet atmosphere instead of a radio blaring by the rink area would be MUCH better. This shouldn't be another place to put up with noise pollution.

Joseph P — Google review

One of the nicest "city" parks that I've ever visited, through the years.😏Nicely kept up, clean and with lots of room, paths....to explore. One star off as the blaring radio playing by the skating rink does not add to the atmosphere, just the opposite. If someone wants/needs constant noise, they can wear their headphones. A park like this should be quiet, serene and provide a much-needed break from the everyday noise of normal life.Other than the annoying radio, all good and definitely recommended for visitors and/or the residents of Grande Prairie.

Great place to go for a walk, there are many events held throughout the year. A nice information center with fully accessible bathrooms, there are beautiful trails and a little wildlife, fishing in the main pond aswell as kyak basketball, and mini golf and a fair sized museum with some very great pieces, overall a great place to have some ice-cream and go for a walk or play in the field.

It's a perfect park to go for a run, walk, bike ride at any time of the day.

Good little trail for a nice ride around town , and a fantastic family afternoon location

Camping in the area, had to check out the local disc golf course. The park is a wonderful collective of native plants. It was very enjoyable to play 18 holes through a very interesting course - fields, shrubbery, bridges, natural stairs.

I must admit my first time at the Eastlink Center was almost a month ago now. I was so impressed with staff, the cleanliness of the entire building, the overall energy. Positive friendly people, relaxed and enjoying themselves with family and friends.

Carol F — Google review

Great place for some family/solo fun. Fair prices on their monthly memberships. The swimming pool is fantastic. We enjoyed just walking around the place. I asked about accessibility for storing of walkers while using the pool and they seemed very accommodating. They mentioned storing it behind the front desk to prevent stealing.

Great place as a water park. Great place as a gym. All in all great place

Tom L — Google review

Unbelievable! So much to do for kids and adults alike. Good value for the money. Bring your own lock for the lockers. The family change rooms are very well set up. Definitely recommend as a day out.Two waterslides for older kids and up. One waterslide dedicated to children under 13. Tot spot, lazy river w whirlpool that is fun, surfing spot, 2 lap pools and one pool for diving. 2 large hot pools. Overall very well laid out.

Johny T — Google review

This sport complex is awesome, I was surprised to find that huge swimming area and splash park in this city. Sauna and steam room is worth visiting. Fitness center is also really cool, everything is modern and in great condition. Adult daily pass is only 11 bucks. Front desk ladies are beautiful and helpful. I'm gonna visit this place again.

Ruslan S — Google review

This place has all you wanted to keep an active child busy. The slides open at 4pm onwards.

Dianne — Google review

The Eastlink Center has a good variety of amenities but it seems geared towards older kids (schools right by it), as well as families with older kids, or just individuals on their own. It is NOT the greatest facility if you have a small infant or baby, unless you like to and are merely looking to walk the track. Breastfeeding seems to be hit or miss if allowed in certain areas and you will be confronted by staff. They will not do anything to make you feel more comfortable with this or for doing what you need to take care of your baby. There is also limited baby change tables, so the wait can be a bit. You cannot change a diaper outside of the bathroom, even if on your own change mat, as it will be reported and complaints will be made. The washrooms tend to smell foul as they don't change the designated diaper bins often. When we brought complaints forward to the staff about comments made towards us or issues occuring, things were just brushed under the table and then soon after they would notify about a policy change via the baby and me class instructor. The policies seemed to be changing all the time with no real care for moms with new babies. The baby and me class Victoria runs is great, only draw back unfortunately is it is only 3 times a week. Victoria is amazing and is the only staff member who seems to care about the mom's. Outside of this class time slot you cannot workout with your baby, even if they are in a stroller. All equipment or workout areas minus the walking track are for ages 13+. They have nothing to offer mums with babies throughout the summer months.

Danielle M — Google review

Visited the pool for the first time. Overall experience was great, I went with my 2 year old nephew and wish they let us go down the side together. Some rules seem silly but we still had a good time

Heather S — Google review

Nice and clean facility. Very helpful staff. The lifeguards are also great at their job and very attentive. Overall a very safe and family oriented setting

Pamatronics N — Google review

I was at the woman's change room at the pool. There were some teenagers in the showers. They were screaming at the top of there lungs, for no reason. The cleaning lady, told them to stop screaming. Then the cleaning lady asked them and some other people to be careful, not to have soap on floor out of the showers. Someone might slip and get hurt. When the cleaning lady told them to be careful. I heard the one teen say to her friend. Should I go yell at her. For yelling at me. the teenager went up to the cleaning lady and pointed at her started yelling at the cleaning lady. Teenagers so disrespectful now a day's, I couldn't believe it. The teenager said don't ever yell at me as she pointed her finger. Customer isn't always right, when they don't know both side's of the story. 😒if that was me when I was a teenager, my dad would have made me go apologize. I would have been grounded

Sheri V — Google review

It's a great facility. Fun for the kids. Didn't care for a couple of unnecessary rules in terms of the diving platform. A bit over the top. For the amount people pay they could turn on the warm water in the showers.

Jason T — Google review

It's good overall but could be more accessible. There's no adult change tables for people with disabilities and the front door button isn't a button. You wave your hand to open the door. Which isn't great for people with limited hand control.

Becca Y — Google review

The Flo Rider has literally gone down only 6 hours a week which is sad cuz I used to ride at 6 hours Saturday. It's alone but other than that the facilities are nice shape. They're keeping the staff young. I guess you could say and the place is pretty clean

Chris L — Google review

The monthly membership allows unlimited access to all facilities and my most favorite to access is the swimming pool.I do wish the Flo Wave Rider was open more hours because I've only been there once while it was open and only watched as I was too scared to try it but now I want to try it and it's never open when I'm there. The slides are especially fun tho especially the tube slide .

Kharma S — Google review

Amazing place for families, friends to relive some childhood fun! Just wish there were more tunbes for the lazy river but pool noodles were an okay substitute. Water slides were and absolute blast!! Surfing area was a hoit even just watching trying to decide if old hips would survive 🤣. Lifeguard staff were very on the ball keeping excited kids on track with the rules which was nice to see. Safety first

Janitorial ladies yell at kids for washing their hair at the pool change room showers , walk into their showers to yell at them and tell them how to shower, and when brought up to security, security was useless, they came in and watched the young girls shower …..This wasn’t the first time Janitorial has been rude and ignorant to our family or people we know. Actually we hear it a lot.Security is ignorant and talk over you when you try to talk to them. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️$140/month for young teens to not feel safe there alone anymore.

Jenn S — Google review

Eastlink offers a wide variety of activities that caters to many lifestyles. The facility has a lot of natural light and is clean (you can almost always see someone cleaning). The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Eastlink is a great place to bring your family.I did not give a five star review because the schedule for public swim is limited and not always convenient.

Aaron H — Google review

Love it here, I think we have always managed to miss the busy times. My only thing is pool rules, I was whisled at 3 separate times and told 3 different things by 3 different life guards all while just being at the diving boards. Every time I go there I get told something different.

Ashley K — Google review

This weekend my husband and I were planning on going to Eastlink for our daughter's first swimming trip. We checked the pool schedule on the website beforehand to make sure we had the right time as we live an hour out of GP. However, when we showed up we were informed the pool was closed because of the Alberta Winter Games. When we said there was no mention on the website or schedule, we were told that they knew the website wasn't updated as they had only updated their Facebook page. We were told to come back on Monday and no apology was given nor commitment to update the website to avoid this happening for the rest of the weekend. We sat on a bench near the ticket counter for awhile as we made alternate plans and numerous families came for public swim only to be told the same thing. Young children who were excited to go swimming left crying. It is unacceptable to not update the primary source of information and, if it was an accident, should have been corrected promptly so as not to inconvenience more families.

Deanna F — Google review

So sick of this place. Almost worth it to drive to another town (and might be necessary) with the new schedule and all the things that are always closed when you CAN go in for public swimming! People in GP are resorting to renting hotel pools due to how terrible this place is. It is unbelievable. One pool for a population of over 100,000 and for basically the entirety of weekday afternoons it is closed to the public?! Is this not a city facility, paid for with tax dollars?! The swim clubs should have a different facility. This is absurd and unfair to the rest of our population. I know many other people feel this way.

The staff were all amazing and made the trip as fun as could be! Our guide, Clarissa, was the BEST. I have been on 4 or 5 rafting trips prior to this one and Clarissa is the best guide I have ever had. Would highly recommend both the company and Clarissa!

Yvette K — Google review

This was just super fun and awesome all around. I went with my husband and two younger sisters and we all just had the greatest time! We were lucky enough to have the owners as our guides which was great! They are really nice people and made the trip even better! Knowing every little spot and place along the river educating us on what's what and where. The value for you money is crazy, it's a good long paddle ended by hot chocolate and delicious cookies! So thank you so much, you've awoken a new family favorite thing to do!Keep being awesome

Such a great crew working here! We had a really good experience off and on the river. A very extensive set of covid guidelines makes you feel very safe. The river experience was unforgettable. We were a family of 4 with 13 and a 10 year old and fell very safe while getting a doze of wild river...wild enough for me, anyway. The kids were beyond excited. The views are jaw dropping....if you are anywhere in the vicinity, it is so worth the stop.

Olga C — Google review

We went with a group of 10 of us this past weekend, including some teens from 12-17. It was an overall great experience. We all fully enjoyed our day. The river was fun, the scenery was nice, and the staff were excellent. We happened on to great water levels because of the rainfall this past week which made the rapids even more fun. This was my third time rafting and I would recommend this rafting experience along with the particular guides with Wild Blue Yonder. They were fun, funny, engaging and experienced. Highly recommend for a fun afternoon experience with family, friends, or work team. Thanks for the great day, Yo!

Stephen K — Google review

The rafting trip was great but they did not mention anywhere on booking the trip, that you had to go down a steep gravel hill with only a rope attached to a pole to hang onto. even a normal person with no vertigo would be cautious, but my friend was very shaky and it almost cancelled our trip right there. My daughters took off ahead of me and i couldnt go after them to slow them down as I had to hold onto the rope myself. Please make this more clear for people in the future.

Jim B — Google review

Had a great time rafting with this company! I have been rafting a few times, but this one of the best times Ive gone! The scenery was beautiful, the rapids were really fun, and the guides were friendly and funny. They provided us with really nice gear to keep us warm: even wetsuit jackets and socks and gloves in addition the normal gear, brought water guns for an on-river water fight, and had hot chocolate and cookies for afterwards. The facilities were very nice as well. Thanks guys!!!

Ashley D — Google review

Shane and Clarissa were awesome great experience and covered everything from safety to technicals prior to getting out on the water, would definitely do a repeat of this when we visit again, superb!

gracelandheightz — Google review

This right here is a hidden gem. We went as a group of 10 and the amount of fun we had cannot be put into words. From welcoming us to finally waving goodbye to us, the Wild Blue team had it laid out perfectly. You couldn’t ask for a better set of people to take you down those rapids. The staff were all super fun and gave us clear cut instructions on what to do and what not to do and how to manage any situations that may arise while rafting. I don’t want to ruin the surprise by telling what’s waiting towards the end of the course there but the hot chocolate and cookies at the end, man that did hit the spot. Highly recommend this place for mediocre adventure junkies. Shayne, my man, you were one fun, crazy captain 🫡. Thanks again team. We will be back.

Alen J — Google review

Had an amazing rafting with super fun and friendly staffs. We’ll come back next year for sure! Definitely recommended.

Aleena S — Google review

These guys are SERIOUSLY professional. For our group, we used them to get us across the Smokey for some Passport hiking, and they managed the crossing in some really tough conditions. Good guys to talk to, very responsive, good focus on safety, very reliable.I have heard that they have done some serious adventures on their own time, and it was obvious in the short bit of work that they did for us that they had some real depth of expertise.I'd love to go on one of their regular rafting tours someday! Grande Cache is a beautiful area, and it is lucky to have some awesome outfitters like these guys!Check out the photo below for an example of them really going the distance!

David B — Google review

We usually go whitewater rafting in Mt Robson but our favourite campground was closed for renos so we decided to try Grande Cache this year. So glad we did! Terrific, first-rate time with the Wild Blue crew!!The river is the same class as our usual run, but tighter turns and narrow passageways made it a bit more technically challenging and more fun. We were super impressed with the guide's expertise. He called out exactly how many strokes was needed every time. We were a large group, filling three rafts and the rest of our party said it was the same in theirs.I was also very pleased with the quality and abundance of their equipment and gear. The bus, rafts, and paddles were well cared for and in great shape. Our usual rafting company just has the wetsuits, socks and a windbreaker and helmet, and I'm always cold, even on nice days. Wild Blue provided us with wetsuits, wetjacket, windbreaker, socks, water shoes, and even water mitts and toques if needed! It had been raining all weekend and was still a little chilly but I was nice and warm the whole time! The perfect finishing touch: hot chocolate and cookies when we came out of the water! I've rafted with a few companies over the years but this was the first time we were ever offered this, and it really hit the spot. Plus, a wonderful final note to leave in customers' memories! Thanks so much, Wild Blue! We'll be back!

William A. Switzer Provincial Park is a picturesque campground set amidst the pine forest and Rocky Mountain vistas in Alberta. The park offers numerous opportunities to admire the mountains as you hike along its many trails or partake in winter sports. There are seven private campsites at Graveyard Lake that remain open all year round with no services available. The scenic Kelley's bathtub is a must-see attraction in the area, offering stunning views of its surroundings.

Beautiful fall colors and scenery. No shortage of trails and hikes. Nice campgrounds and hoping to make it back during the summer when everything is open.

Great campsite, lots of space, Loop L short walk to the lakeside for some canoeing and fishing!

A great escape to wondrous mountain scenery and not-too-dense forestry throughout the silent park. Campsites are spacious and well spread out throughout the park, and wildlife is abundant in the forms of many fowl, moose, deer, cougars, and much more. A great alternative to visit if other provincial parks are busy during camping season.

The young gentleman was extremely helpful and patient at the Visitor Centre. We told him that we wanted to canoe for 1 to 2 hours and he directed us to Jarvis Lake - WONDERFUL recommendation. Hiking Trails

The Sulphur Skyline Trail in Jasper National Park is a well-marked path that leads hikers through the tree line to a high mountain peak. The highlight of the trail, however, is not at the summit but at the trailhead where Miette Hot Springs await. The hike is a steady uphill climb with only one junction to navigate halfway up. Once above the trees, hikers can enjoy stunning views of the dome in the distance.

This trail marked our fourth summit conquest during our stay in Jasper, Alberta. The Sulphur Skyline hiking trail treated us to some of the most awe-inspiring panoramas we've encountered. It was indeed a challenging climb, spanning approximately 5 miles to reach the Skyline summit and back. The hike demanded about 5 hours of our time, but the vistas we encountered along the way made every step worthwhile.

Xavier K — Google review

The hike up was grueling for my group of sedentary gamers, but there are plenty of opportunities to stop as frequently as needed without obstructing the path. It is an uphill incline the entire way, and only gets steeper as you ascend. Pacing is key for those who are out of shape; many people who were walking slower than us actually beat us to the summit because they didn't have to take as many breaks. In our excitement we moved too quickly and as a result had to take breaks at every opportunity. As you near the top, there are a couple of "wow!" moments where a break in the trees reveals how far you've come. These spots were definitely inspiring for us to keep going. At the false summit, you are treated to an amazing view and it seems like it can't possibly get any better (but it can!). The false summit is very spacious, and is a great spot for a picnic.Going all the way to the peak is definitely worth it, though. The last 400m is a tough climb up a steep gravel-covered slope. Hiking poles were extremely helpful here. At the peak you'll have a full 360 degree view of all the surrounding mountains, most of which were not visible at all at any point along the way.It took us a little under 3 hours to ascend, and 1 hour to descend, but many people passed us in both directions so it can definitely be done in less time if you're fit. When we started at 9:30AM, there were only 3 other groups heading up. But on the way down the trail was getting crowded and the parking lot was completely full of cars (and bighorn sheep!). I'd recommend going early to avoid crowds at the summit.

Bethany — Google review

So much fun! The view was great, smoke from nearby forest fires made it slightly less than epic. Not a difficult hike, my kids had no problem making it to the top.

Jake H — Google review

A great hike that was a highlight of our late September weekend getaway to Jasper National Park. There is significant elevation gain on this hike, but it's very manageable if you pace yourself. If there is snow in the forecast, make sure you bring hiking poles. They kept us on our feet, even on the steep & slippery parts of the trail.

Kevin L — Google review

Steep hike with beautiful views! Peek is windy, hold on to your cap and take a windbreaker. Did not see wildlife besides a crow

Kohos S — Google review

It's a steady incline all the way up. Out and back for a total of 3.5 - 4 hours. This is well worth the trip. It's a glorious panoramic at the end. You see so many social media posts from the ridge. It's rated as hard but totally doable by anyone...you can move at whatever pace you feel comfortable. There really is no difficult spot until the very end which is a bit of a scramble to get to the top. Loved the reward!

Wes I — Google review

Amazing views from the top after a challenging and partly steep trail. Bring hiking boots and a warm jacket! The 4km hike (one way) with nearly 700m elevation took us 90 minutes up and 50 minutes down. We're experienced hikers.

Nina — Google review

Greatly recommend starting earlier to beat the rush. Beautiful summit with astonishing view of the mountain ranges. Passed an entire hockey team on the way down and 30+ other people, busy. Medium difficulty with steeper terrain nearing the summit. Hiked it Oct 1st and the top half was all snowed in.

Keegan M — Google review

A busy yet beautiful hike. This is one of those hikes that you should do at least once. There aren't many hikes that are this rewarding for the "lower" amount of energy needed (when compared to hikes with similar views) Good hiking boots and poles are recommended as usual but the poles aren't necessary. It's a fairly steady uphill hike and you will want a moderate fitness level.

Brett H — Google review

Great hike with lots of elevation. Took us approximately 4 hours to reach the summit and back to our car. We did not do the loop, but the summit itself was amazing. Definitely recommend to bring walking sticks since there is a lot of loose gravel at the top which makes it easy to lose your footing.

Angel A — Google review

Moderate to Hard trail especially the last 400m. Well worth the climb to see 360 degree view. Once you are done with the hike, you can enjoy the hot spring down at the bottom of the mountain, and all your muscle pains are instantly gone! Be warn it is not for very young kids to go, be sure you wear proper clothing as the weather can change very quickly. The day we went up, at the bottom of the mountain the temperature was 17c, up at the mountain the temp was 12-13C with very strong wind. Be sure you wear a jacket or sweater (and not just T-shirt to hike up)! The whole trail takes approx 4 hours (+/- 40mins) to complete.

Jason A — Google review

Wide well defined easy to follow trail the whole way up. Starts as a gentle incline and gets steeper as you go. The last part after the meadows being by far the steepest. For us today it was 4 stars just because of the smoke. It was light when we started and was very thick when we got to the summit. We plan to return one day when there is better visibility. We recorded 9.9 KM and 671 M of elevation gain.

Ron S — Google review

Steep hike worth it for amazing g views. Spectacular views from the summit! You really have to make it to the top for this trail to be worth while, as there aren't many views on the way up, but once there it's amazinging! As with most hikes I would recommend an early start, we got on the trail by 8 and shared the summit with 3 or 4 other groups, but must have passed 200 or so people headed up as we were going down.

Beaver Boardwalk is a wooden pathway that offers an immersive experience in the natural beauty of Hinton. It was constructed to celebrate the town's 50th anniversary and provides an up-close encounter with various wildlife, including beavers, amphibians, and waterfowl. The boardwalk winds along Happy Creek and through Hinton's renowned trail network, offering picturesque views of Maxwell Lake.

It's so peaceful. Had a nice walk but I didn't see any beavers. But it was okay the weather was calm. There's a part of the boardwalk that was damaged and can't be strolled. I hope they can fix that.

Cleo P — Google review

Was a nice walk. Pretty views of the mashy flats. Went at 6 ish in the evening since dusk is supposed to be best to see beavers out and about. Didn't see any beavers tho 😔 but saw the dams and house that they've built. At least 3 boardwalks were closed and needed repair. Popular place for running and taking dogs for walks. 🏃‍♂️🐶

Pam B — Google review

A nice network of trails around the wetlands. The boardwalks made the walking easier, even on a rainy day. There were lots of birds and small animals sharing the area. There were a number of sections closed off while we were there, it looked like some repairs were needed, but this was the end of the season so that's understandable. If you're staying near Hinton this is a trail well worth visiting. You can spend either an hour or several hours and cover everything. It's perfect for an evening stroll.

Christopher H — Google review

Had a nice stroll along the boardwalk. Some areas are under construction but that didn't slow me down. Good area to get fresh air and exercise. Seen a couple beavers but wasn't able or quick enough to get a picture of them. A nice elevated bridge area out in the marsh. Kids would love to explore the area and I plan on taking the kids here on our next Canadian road trip.

Beautiful nature and rehabilitation scenery with a wonderful boardwalk surrounding a beaver lodge. Visit during sunrise or sunsets for the best chance at capturing a glimpse of these busy workers. People there are friendly and respectful nature lovers. A great place for a silent escape to bring family to view such an amazing natural habitat if you're ever visiting the area. Bikes (unmotorized) are also permitted.

Jonas W — Google review

We stopped here at the end of the day to enjoy the sunset. Parts of the boardwalk were under construction but it is extremely well done and recommend for a nice evening stroll.

Mar C — Google review

Very nice boardwalk area. Looks to have had some recent fixes to some spots. There were some areas that we couldn't go due to a flooding event. There were lots of different birds around the area. We even got to witness a rufous humming bird sitting way up on the tips of the dead conifers.

Tyler D — Google review

Wonderful trails well put together and informative. We really enjoyed it. Definitely would visit this place again. Great way to spend an hour.

Judy L — Google review

Strolling along the newly built wooden boardwalk and navigating through the wetlands and marshes is truly relaxing. The volunteers have made a significant contribution – thank you!

金玫Barrie J — Google review

Visited in late September and the beavers came out around 4:45pm. We saw a few of the little ones playing and climbing on the outside of the dam and one of the adult beavers was collecting grasses from the nearby shores. Probably would've seen more activity if we'd stayed later or been there around sunset, but we had dinner reservations back in Jasper

Michelle B — Google review

Stunning area for a walk, amazing scenery. Knocking a star off because a lot of it was broken when I last visited.

Beavers ✅ Boardwalk ✅A great nature sporting walk that the whole family will enjoy!

Owen R — Google review

We had an RV so found off street parking at approx 440 Collinge road about 200mtrs away from start of walk, there is parking right at the entrance also with a toilet there. Wheelchair accessible track mostly. We visited twice and saw beavers there after 6pm, they put on a great show. Plenty of bird life around as well which was fantastic. We spent hours here taking it all in. You could rush around the walkways in less than an hour if you wanted to. Friendly locals who are happy to share their knowledge and eperiences with you. One of our favourite places during our 3 week stay in Canada

Steve E — Google review

Very beautiful place for a stroll or hike. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because parts of the boardwalk are in severe need of repairs.Bring your dogs but keep them on a leash.Lots of wildlife including birds and beavers and watch out for bears and cougars and I don't mean the ones with manicured nails! 😉

Absolutely beautiful park. We stayed for two nights over the Labour Day long weekend and had a wonderful time! The Pros:- most sites are large enough for two vehicles and two 6 person tents;- many sites are beautiful and private;- very clean, including the sites themselves, the trails, outhouses, flush toilets, and showers;- lots of beautiful walking/hiking trails that are kid friendly;- the lake is clean, large, and beautiful;- the seawall is unique and offers a great fishing experience;- great little convenience store with some camping essentials;- multiple boar launches;- 15 minute drive to/from Whitecourt;- 5 minutes from crown land. The Meh:- firewood is $10/bundle. We went through 3 bundles per night;- some sites were very public and had little privacy;- some sites had a lot of water in the low areas (after a rain);- the playgrounds are a bit small and there were no swings;- very small beach so not much space for the kiddos to run aroundNone of the "meh" points were deal breakers for us, and didn't feel like inconveniences. Just some general observations (hence they aren't cons). We would 10/10 go there again!!

Camped over long weekend. Just want to say thank you to all the staff for maintaining the sites and to the workers in the booth. Everyone was extremely friendly and approachable. Really loved the layout of the campsite there were lots of private treed areas. Although the weather was not as cooperative everything turned out wonderful. Lots of animals the kids had fun with hikes and finding many species of birds. Will definitely come again! Porta potty was also cleaned regularly which is great!

Great fishing either from a boat or the sea wall. Campsites are nice and the trails are great. The view from the end of the peninsula is spectacular. This is not a lake for power sports but fishing, paddle boarding, canoing, kayak and just relaxing it is. The showers are hit and miss, but nice to have

Brian H — Google review

I love this park. Well maintained. Clean bathroom near store and decent outhouses. Camping is expensive. $43 per night plus $12 reservation fee. One trail along campsite which extends into a boring and often swampy loop for a decent hike. That's my only negative really, the disappointing hike. The part along the river to the fishing boardwalk is nice. The boardwalk is the jewel of the park. Fishing from boardwalk is very good. Almost every campsite is reasonably private though some are clearly intended to be doubles (not private if not together). The lake has a decent sized playground and a small beach. So very loud by the beach side of campground all day. Very nice tenting sites.

It is so peaceful, so many birds from ospreys to eagles and so many baby eagles. The water is so clean and I love the Sandy beach.

Amazing campground with great trails, tons of activities to do, and really great sites

Best treed-in camping experience near Edmonton. I'm from British Columbia originally and moved to Edmonton 5 years ago. This place was hands down the best camping option near Edmonton. It reminded me of camping in the Thompson Okanagan and Whistler. Fantastic experience, the trails are beautiful, nature is gorgeous, not too many bugs, all around excellent location with a little store open late on site, showers, running toilets and fresh water, firewood on site.My site was water facing and even had a little trail that went straight to the waterfront trail. Absolutely worth every penny.

very nice clean park!! Huge..I almost got lost 🙄.. dog friendly.friendly staff.. lady who checked us in, sold us wood.. worked in store. Wonderful person.Lake was not too busy, everyone was civil.Would definitely go back.

Me M — Google review

Great sites, stocked lake for fishing. Showers were unavailable due to a water leak and no potable water-boil water advisory. Friendly staff. Will definitely come back!

Marathongal — Google review

This is a great campground! There are lots of trees/privacy, power sites, single and double sites, playgrounds, clean showers, great fishing spots and wood available for purchase. The lake is awesome for swimming, but unfortunately, the beach is minimal.

Always our go to lake. Very well maintained. Enough trails to go around. Has a small store and free showers.

Connect with nature and old friends! Finding a camping spot is a nightmare in Alberta, and when you do, it’s really hit or miss as far as what your experience will be like. Eagle Creek was figuratively and literally a breath of fresh air. Beautiful scenery, and a well maintained campground. It’s also one of the few adult oriented LGBTQS+ spaces. Our fellow campers were friendly and respectful, they offer a variety of events through out the season, as well as serviced RV lots, Dinning, a saloon, indoor rec hall, walk in tenting, and …. CABINS! They’re available for short term rentals or seasonal leasing. They fill up fast. So if you are looking for a unique experience where you can just be you. Look no further you’ll be in good hands. The operators really go above and beyond.

We were looking to disconnect from our stressful jobs and to try camping in an RV for the first time, and Eagle Creek campground fit the bill. The campground operators were friendly and accommodating, and we got the peaceful break we were looking for, in a setting that allowed us to let our hair down, so to speak. The spooky ghost down was a unique touch to the experience.

Sammy B — Google review

My partner and I spent the Canada Day long weekend here for the first time and man was it a blast!! Met up with some friends that recommended the place and Eagle Creek did not disappoint. Welcomed with arms wide open at the gate, they informed us about the campground and everything it had to offer. They guys are always driving around ensuring everyone is comfortable and having a good time. They deliver wood to your site. On weekends they have brunch and dinner. Everyone in general was so welcoming and accommodating. We are actually looking at booking with Eagle Creek again in the next following weeks with a big group. Thank you to the guys that made our weekend so comfortable and memorable.

Would not return.I find that this is a very difficult post to make. I wanted so much to make sure that this Campground got its fair review. I wanted to leave here and still want to come back, one owner ruined that for me. Not another penny will he get from me.Unfortunately that wanting to come back all changed on night number one when an unidentified older gentleman approached our campsite and drove his side by side right in to our site, as to say by his actions, I own this place and I'll whatever I please. Not okay.In an aggressive tone, "Where are these campers?" He was specifically asking for our friends who were occupying the next campsite. The tone in his voice was very unwelcoming, and in an appalling very matter-of-fact voice stated "I see that you brought your wood. That's not allowed in our campground, We need to make our money somehow please put it back in your truck and if you're going to have a campfire you can purchase your wood from us, We need to make our money somehow, we've got bills to pay."I was so taken back by his tone, his snootiness, his entitlement that I researched and read the PDF copy of the rules posted on the website and downloaded a copy for myself and this gentleman stated that it was written in these rules five separate places that you were unable to bring your own wood, supposedly. I can guarantee you that at the time this happened, these statements were not listed in these rules and regulations which by the way were very long very deep and very specific so not only did he directly approach our campsite in a very threatening and unappreciated manner he also lied to us flat out. This type of entitlement by the owners of this Campground is exactly the reason why this place should not continue. This is supposed to be a place that's safe welcoming and accepting for all and by all manner of this interaction is entitled as drove away on his side by side and left us all speechless. As an owner, he should be ashamed of his behavior. I feel sorry for the staff that work there, which by the way were very friendly and fantastic, and as a side note, they apologized on his behalf. The part that upsets me after all of that, is the statement where he says "We have bills to pay" when quite frankly, since these owners took ownership of this property, have invested little to no money into it. It looks the same as when they bought it; It's all gone into their pockets. None of the buildings had been improved, the washrooms were atrocious. They were dirty, there were no sanitary napkins/paper towels when we needed them, the toilet paper was the lowest possible grade that ripped off and was very difficult to get out of the dispenser the toilets were not clean.Overall the word from the yearly campers that come here, some for two plus years or at least since it opened under this new ownership, have said the same thing as I'm saying in this review. So it's been confirmed, no need for a "We're sorry you feel this way" reply post.In fact, There is still a pile of gravel that sits to this day that was supposed to be spread out across the roads as one simple Improvement step and it still sits there today.Unfortunately, the poor leadership and poor social skills of this owner and lack of investment into their property makes this place an absolute do not return.I loved the other campers and like I said the support staff were fantastic.Onwards to another campsite where the owners give a crap about the people they're serving and not about squeezing every possible scent from the people who visit them.Oh and if you're wondering about the private membership, that mandatory fee, I know, another money grab but it's the only way that you can allow patrons to walk around with their private parts hanging out because it's considered a private Campground and membership is a must. I wish that fee would have gone towards something like a trailer dump or perhaps trees between the sites.Looking forward to checking out. The end.

Love Eagle Creek! Fantastic sense of community and a great escape for the weekend. This is my happy place. As a seasonal, we’ve made so many great friends and and it’s a great way to meet new people through the summer!

Went here for a night visiting someone who has a spot here. Absolutely adored this campground!!! 100% would recommend. We stayed in the motel, it was very clean and quaint. We had a coffee maker and a microwave, small table with 2 chairs and there was a full bathroom in our room. The roads and grounds were well groomed and it was very easy to get to. It is pet friendly. There is an area for off leash as well. Can't wait to go back!!!

This camp site is great! I would recommend this camp site for families with young kids. We get to see wild bison daily of our stay. There’s also easy trails! The washrooms are well maintained. Staff were extremely friendly.Firewood were pricy though!

This is an excellent campground with a choice of regular tenting, tipis, trapper tents, or cabins available. The campsite is gated to reduce traffic and the walking trails, museum, and interactive exhibits are pretty terrific. We stayed in a trapper tent which was very comfortable although a little cold at night. The parking pad across from the tent was *just* big enough for our truck; we did have to park at quite a steep angle as you can see from the photo. There are one set of flush toilets lighted at night which are near the cabins. The trails have lots of excellent and informational signs and there are bison to view from certain points which are safely behind fences. The views of the North Saskatchewan are lovely and the historic structures such as original chimneys and frames of buildings appear frequently on the trails. The signage on the trails is very informative and all the speaking signs have French and English options. The puppet show about David Thompson has great music and fairly engaging voice acting. It did come across perhaps as a little dated when it came to including all the perspectives of Canadian peoples but the kids loved it and we have videos of them dancing to the musical interludes. This is definitely one of the most unique campgrounds I have been to in Alberta and I highly recommend it.

Douglas B — Google review

Loved this place. Lots were a good size with a nice view of the landscape. No services. Some amazing walking paths along the river. A viewpoint to see the bison up close. Very helpful staff. Dog friendly. Extremely clean washrooms.

Beautiful campground! We were really surprised by how nice it was and are looking forward to coming back. Lots of trails around and some historical information. The cabin was awesome - had everything you needed to make the best out of your camping trip. Would highly recommend!

This place is great. We got tent site #1. It's the best site in the tenting area, and a 3 min walk to the river. You can hear it from our site. Everything is clean, 24/7 washroom access, hot water cleaning stations, the works. You can rent a cabin here or a trapers tent or a teepee. A few trails around us to walk too. Highly recommend.

Amber-lee I — Google review

We had a very nice camping experience in this campground. We stayed in a trappers tent that can accommodate up to 5 people. Just bring your own beddings or sleeping bags. Each sites has its own firepits and picnic tables. A parking spot just across the site. We loved that the place is so quiet, well kept and the outhouse is so clean and even their washrooms. They also have showers, just ask for a token and it's for free. Staffs are friendly and diligent in keeping this place clean. We will definitely come back.

Axa B — Google review

Beautiful and tranquil spot. Our family’s favourite camping experience to date! Our family of four stayed in a Métis trappers tent which included two cots, three floor mats, a table with two chairs and a trunk filled with cooking equipment, Labrador tea, spices and bannock mix. Oh and a huge bison hide!Thankfully we brought cold rated sleeping bags and extra blankets because it was a tad chilly in our tent. This is not unusual for the end of September in Alberta so please come prepared!Outside there was a beautiful fire pit and rustic picnic table and benches. Plus a parking spot across the way for our vehicle. Our young boys loved having the North Saskatchewan River in such close proximity and they skipped rocks to their hearts’ content. (We’ll bring their bikes next time as there is a paved road and little to no cars.)My partner and I loved how clean and well kept the campsites and bathrooms were. The Parks Canada staff were all wonderful! Our camping fee included entrance to the Historic site just a few minutes away which was also well maintained. We spent a few hours meandering around listening to the auditory exhibits and learning about the Indigenous history of the area. We also watched a live demonstration of bead work by a lovely Parks Canada staff member.10/10! We’ll be back next summer! Although the fall, with its vibrant colours, may be the prettiest time to visit.

Great Stay, This location is tucked away on a quiet bend of the North Saskatchewan river. Its amenities are great and the Parks Canada Staff was excellent. We stayed at the tenting area which is nestled into the trees by the river. Its a great place that has its own fire pit for each site. There is one covered area to share if the weather turns bad. I added some photos of the Tenting area. Important Note when reserving Site. Site 1 is where site 2 is listed on the reservation map. Site 9 and 10 are where site 10 and 1 would be on the reservation site map. These two sites are on the far side of the shelter and away from the other sites. For Groups Sites 3 to 7 are in close proximity to each other.Only downside is storing food in your vehicle. Its just a short walk away.

Wabamun Lake Provincial Park is a serene destination with a beautiful dock, scenic trails, and ample space for various outdoor activities. The park offers boat rentals, playgrounds, numerous picnic areas, and a tranquil walking path along the lake. With shaded spots for relaxation and reading, it's an ideal place for families to unwind. The campground features treed and RV sites alongside hiking and biking trails.

Quiet and peaceful during Fall time. Not much activity during the mid September weekend when I first visited. Would love to return and enjoy the beach and take take out my kayak next summer when it's less chilly and windy 😄

Amazing place for family fun! Has everything you can look for.Lake , washrooms , place for installing tents, great sunlight, picnic tables. We took out portable bbq. Had a great day trip.

Campground can be a little loud with trains every 90-120 minutesYou can find nice family style hikes along near and away from the lake. I am here in late September and the trees are turning. The beach is probably full in warm summer months but this morning we are the only ones here.

Amazing place for picnic and family get together. Also nice arrangement for after lake shower and kids playground.

The water is cool and clear of litter. I see many people enjoying the beach and water. It's a beautiful park for a family picnic. I see a large, secluded area with BBQ pit and covered picnic hut/gazebo with tables. The area has a nice view of the lake. I assume it's available for booking/ rental if you have a very large group.

Luke N — Google review

A clean water lake and large campground which has many treed sites and RV sites can be found here. There are trails for hiking and biking and a waterfront beach for swimming, boating, and sailing. The beach and campground are often crowded during summer time. This is a good place for relaxing at weekends.

Lovely place to spend the day with family / friends or just by yourself. There are shades areas and the sunny sand beach that you can choose from. Wish they had more water sport rentals and F&B options at the location.

Could certainly use a little more TLC and a daily blue algae report. But I love the beach and the fact they allow dogs🐾. It's wonderful.

I will never swim here (because the water's always filled with algae) BUT I highly recommend this place because of its nice dock, beautiful trails and huge space to just admire nature and do other relaxing activities (there are boat rentals, playgrounds for kids, lots of picnic areas, a walking path where you can also admire the lake, lots of shaded areas for quiet time/reading) plus a great campground!

Good sized Scenic Lake 45 mins outside Edmonton.Busy on the weekends and slow during the week.Lots of nice camping sites. Wood is $14 a bag. Good boat launch. Cant go wrong spending time out in mother nature.

Don R — Google review

We love the camp ground. We went to the day use area but needed to find an area of the lake where we could be with our dog. Not many options and what we were able to find were not pleasant. We do wish that more places would make areas that families with pets can use to enjoy the water.

The park was good. I love paddleboarding. However, I dont like to swim in freshwaters with unknown floating stuff...because i got sensitive skin... and can't stay under the sun for too long, which is a bummer. Also, the park needs to have tap water atleast for hand washing and rinsing.

Beautiful provincial campground. Well treed, and nicely spaced out. The trails are very well maintained, and easy to ride our ebikes on, with benches to take a break on along the way. Beach is sandy, but didn't try out the lake as it was a bit to chilly. We were here the first week of September. Some of the sites are huge, can easily put in a 30-35 ft trailer, plus another smaller one, and your tow vehicles. They have group camping as well. Not all loops have power, but there's a dump station on site and potable water to fill your tank.

Roxanne F — Google review

Great provincial park. Staff were very helpful fast and easy check in. Once you find your site you’ll notice they are spacious and nicely treed for privacy. Garbage and recycling station spaced perfectly throughout each loop. There are flush toilets and drop toilets through also. Some of the flush toilets have an outside sink with hot and cold water to clean dishes. There is a central shower building that are free to all campers. We stayed in a group camp site that fit 5 trailers comfortably. The layout of trails all lead to the park/beach area which is perfect as trying to drive there is a bit of a round about way as it’s not clearly marked. The water did have blue green algae when we went. Periods of the day it was clear at the beach roped off swimming area so it wasn’t all that bad and just hit the showers after swimming. The dump station has 4 Sani dumps which helps when leaving on a busy check out days. Great experience over all will stay again.

Great place to visit with family. Nice place to swim and water activities

Nitin S — Google review

We arrived around 530pm on the 26th, and there was no one working, so there was no way to get firewood or check in so we still drove in and set up and checked in the next day but no fire wood the first night kinda sucked. The next night, someone was there until 8 pm, so check their hours maybe.Campgrounds are well maintained. We were in the Bs. 5 min walk to the park and beach, If you use the trail. It was private but not secluded. Bathrooms were nearby, and they weren't porty potties. They were actual bathrooms. We had our 4 dogs with us, which worked out nice they were great. There were other dogs around, and a good chunk of them did bark a lot.... but turn the music up, and you're good. 11pm things got quieter, but we still had the fire going and low music just like everyone else. The beach is beautiful... but did have a public notice of swimmers itch reported even though it wasn't on the website. So we made sandcastles and just dipped our feet in ( and washed and rubbed them after). They have kayaks you can rent ( you download an app, etc ). Near the beach is a park-older but still nice. Handicap accessible. Also, there is a big green space you can use. Drinking is allowed at the picnic tables. There are bathrooms ( porter pottys) in the area. This area was fairly busy throughout the day.Showers are free, and when we went at 1pm, were busy for the women's. Pressure and temperature were perfect. One showers pressure was insane but I tried 2 more, and they were perfect. There is no designated place to brush your hair or do makeup, which was fine for me-there is two/three sinks, but then you're blocking everyone who just wants to wash their hands from using the bathroom. So area could be used if not busy. There is a small concession area that you stand outside of and can buy things for camping. For food, they generally only had ice cream. This is where you also buy firewood.Campground is only a 12 min drive from the Village of Pigeon lake and they had some cute places to visit.Overall really nice campground and would stay here again.

Awesome park and an amazing beach at the Day Use Area. Love the self serve kayak and paddleboard rentals there as well.

Great campsites, lots of bush in-between. Friendly staff. Great day area with groomed beach and playgrounds for the goblins.

Frank T — Google review

This campsite is well-maintained and offers easy access to basic amenities, including power, washrooms, garbage/recycling facilities, water stations, and nice firewood. However, the only downside was a large camp group that played loud music. I visit campsites to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.

Kevin L — Google review

We were in the moose group site. It was pretty nice. Trails were good, fishing was good, and the site was in good condition. We did ask for a new light bulb in the cook Shack on the first day but never got one.The biggest reason it only gets three out of five stars is that Pigeon Lake is a big fishing lake. And provincial parks on lakes where a lot of fishing takes place usually have a good fish cleaning stand. Usually a metal table with a hole in the middle and a water sprayer to clean everything off with potable water. Despite thousands of people fishing at Pigeon every summer, their fish cleaning stand consists of a metal tray hooked to the front of a garbage can at the dock. With hundreds of flies buzzing around it and no water to clean anything off of. Pretty gross. Do better, go look at Martin River Campground in Slave Lake. Also, a third of the boat launch has been wrecked since mid April when the ice came off. For a place as busy as pigeon, only having 2/3 of the boat launch means most people can only launch one boat at a time unless the boats are smaller. And usually people are too afraid to do that even with small boats, so it's one at a time. Waiting for 40 minutes to load a boat when it's getting dark is not fun.A big plus was free showers. That was an unexpected bonus that the people in our group really appreciated.

Luke P — Google review

We really enjoy this campground! The sites are for the most part very trees and private and it has really great group sites for larger parties. There are a few playgrounds and good biking trails for the kids and the sites are deep enough to set up lawn games as well. One drawback is the store that they used to have open at the public day use area is closed (since covid) and doesn't show any signs of reopening. This was a great little store for the kids and day used people to get drinks, ice cream etc. It would be great if they reopened this spot. All in all we like this campground and it's proximity to central Alberta cities.

Mike took my 8 year old son and I fishing at the end of August for an afternoon on Lac Ste. Anne and we had an amazing time. My son has been talking about catching a pike for several years and catch several pike we did! We caught some great Walleye as well and couldn't have had a more enjoyable afternoon. Mike was very knowledgeable and extremely patient with my son teaching him how to cast and several other tricks to fishing. I highly recommend using Mike if your in town visiting or if you are an aspiring fisherman, Mike will certainly get you started down the right path!

My 11 year old son and I had a great experience with Mike for a late August afternoon of fishing on Lake Wabamun. Mike did a great job showing us the ropes and was very good with my son. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone. First class all the way!

Out at Wabamum today and here comes a boat powering through moonlight bay under the bridge.I think wow what disregard for the lakeshore and it residents. So I go watch them dock and two occupants have no life jackets.I dont know why a licensed company that makes its money from fishing adventures has so little regard for the place it makes its money.Maybe change the life jacket policy and learn to respect the 12 kmph speed limit.
